One Mind( I had it wrong)

I have talked about how the church today is not of one mind. I thought we all had to be of one mind, and there was my mistake," that we are one mind with each other" That is wrong. We do not have the goal to be one mind with each other, but we are to be of one mind with God, and if we are one mind with God we will be of a one minded church.

What does that mean? Well what is God's mind?
1 How does God feel about Sin?
A. He hates it. So we are to learn, grow to hate sin, not be able to stand it, Just detest it.

2.God is Holy, so we should set our minds on Holy Things.
Holy things.
1. Gods word
2. Prayer
3. Praising God
4. Speech
5. Holy thoughts, by meditating on Gods word.
3. God is Love
A. what is Love?
1.Kind
2.Patients
3. Gentle
4.Not Jealous, boastful, or proud, it does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and keeps no records of wrongs. Does not rejoice injustice
5. Love rejoices when truth wins out, it never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful and always endures.

1cor 13 NLT
4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

John 15:12NLT

12 This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. 13 There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

Not just as our self but we are to love each other as God loves us, perfect.



4. God is truth.

John 16:13 NLT
3 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.

A. we are to speak truth
B. we are to seek out truth
C. we are to encourage truth
D. we are to study truth

Gal5:23 NLT

22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

This is some of what the one mind looks like.

when we are not in one mind with God we get this.

Gal 5:19 NLT

19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. 18 But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses.

Gal5:24 NLT

24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. 25 Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. 26 Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.

You speak quite true here. We need to be of "one mind" and of "one accord" as God said concerning the Gospel of salvation, which is essential. I would just add that as the Prophet said (Amos 3:3), we cannot always walk with others who are of a different mind --even Christians. We can and should always show love to others (all mankind), but after we share our understandings of God and His purposes, we can commend one to the Lord and go forth in a loving and peaceful way, which may be a different path.

Have you read of the start of the church in Acts? The debates in there were always from non Christians, little interesting fact did you know the early Church did not like to be called Christians? They preferred to be called Believers, or followers of Christ or Brothers and Sisters.

I think you might have missed my point in the post friend. Even though we might be of different denominations we can agree on more than Just salvation and we should. We agree on Love. We agree how we should treat each other. This is a start. We start small with what God says, which is clear to all His children. We start with the One mind there and we build until there are no more denominations but Just one church, The Body of Christ.
