just a thought that i had-
How could one man save us all by dying on a cross? i mean beside the fact that hes God and he was sinless how could he saved us ?

God Bless,
Backward in time

Because by shedding his blood on the cross he died for our sins. He took the pain we all deserve.

You got it right. He was God and sinless so he didn't have to die, but he gave up his life that we might be saved!

Let's not forget John 3:18, for there was no other name given to believe in Messiah and identify Him.

John 3:18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of Elohim.

Acts 4:12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

Ok, this is probably going to sound a bit long winded -
When we sin, we sin against God, who is infinitely holy. Therefore, as finite beings, we can do nothing to repay our limitless debt. This debt meant that man deserved to die.
But as Christ is 100% God and 100% man at the same time, His immeasurably valuable life could pay that debt on man's behalf.

The provision has been made for every persson that has ever been born to be saved. Unfortunately we know from experiance that not all will avail themselves of this gift. So today we have many who do not want to accept. That we cannot do anything about apart from praying for them so that the Holy Spirit can speak to their hearts before it is too late. Perhaps you and I maybe the only Christians some will ever see. They will judge Christ by what they see in us. At all time we should be "holy".

Christ died and rose again to defeat death. By becoming man and going through death he liberated us from the bonds of death, therefore we may have eternal life with Him as partakers of the Divine nature.

I'm so glad to see someone mentioned a different theory of the atonement than the Anselmian one!

Let's give the resurrection its due, and not just the cross.

Hebrews 8
1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

Blood and death must be paid where there is sin. We have a choice...we can pay with our own blood and death...of which we will not survive...or we can have Christ pay the bill for us. Since Crist was spotless, his death and bloodshed can be counted as our debt...thus relieving us of paying for our own sin. Thru the power of his sacrifice, death will ultimately have no power over those who have accepted his payment of their bill.

In the Old Testament God demanded that the blood of animals be shed on the altars in the temples for sins to be remitted. These sacrifices were incomplete and imperfect. Jesus was fully human and fully divine. The cross is the altar of the new covenant where Jesus Christ, high priest and victim of the new and eternal covenent, offered himself to the Father so our sins may be forgiven. God gave us the gift of his only Son so that we might have life with him forever.
