  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I speak the truth as I understand it.

You don't understand it.

Jesus called on us to love our neighbor. I think we should strive to love our neighbor and accept that people have different understandings of truth, different ways of thinking about and worshipping God.

What do you know about Jesus apart from this? There is no place in the Kingdom for people with people at variance with Him.

I respect your beliefs, but I disagree with them. I am not worried about going to hell. I don't believe hell exists.
Matthew 18:9
And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you.It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes,to be cast into the fire.
Luke 12:5
But I will show you whom you should fear.Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into Hell, yes, I say to you fear Him.
The pillar of Christianity, Heaven and Hell, and Dear Ohioprof, you say you do not believe?

Just a walking contradiction. You say you try to follow the teachings of Jesus. You do realize that Jesus spoke of hell more than anyone else in the Bible?

If you don't believe hell exists, you're calling the Jesus Christ you say you attempt to follow a liar.

I do not believe there is a hell. I believe all are saved. I am a Universalist, which means I believe in universal salvation.

On the subject of "homosexuality," I know that God would never condemn me for being who I am. I don't know why some people want to do that, but God would never do that.

God is JUST.

You go to court here on this earth after breaking the law and see if a just judge does not condemn you.

Actually, scholars do not know a whole lot about Jesus.

I believe that everyone has a place in God's kingdom. Everyone.

There is simply a difference of opinion among Christians about how Christians should treat gay people and how God looks upon gay people. That difference has pulled apart Christian sects, most recently the Anglican Church. I don't understand how anyone can claim that Christians all agree on this, when obviously we do not all agree. Christian ministers do not agree with each other about this.

Not all Christian ministers are Christians. Those who bow under the pressure to accept sin are going against God and will be held accountable for the division they create. Shepherds are held to a higher standard. Allowing wolves in the sheep pen is a serious matter to Jesus. It's HIS Church, remember???

I predict that over time, the churches will come to accept gay people as we are, and most Christians will accept gay people as we are and not try to change us somehow into heterosexuals. I think it's not worth it for Christians to devote their time to this issue, which is really insignificant among the issues facing the world. Instead of trying to turn gay people into heterosexuals, I think we Christians need to focus on ending the war in Iraq, and on reducing global warming, and on reducing poverty, and on supporting human rights around the world. It's a waste of time for Christians to try to turn gay people into heterosexuals by badgering us, preaching at us, denouncing us and calling us names, and trying to entice us into "ex-gay ministries." These ministries don't succeed, and Christians have other issues that desperately need to be addressed.

Of course this will erode the Church. The propaganda machine will continue to gain strength until the great prophesied apostasy comes forth. But don;t expect Christians to join up with you. You will always be opposed by the righteous people of God.

I haven;t any Iraq issue to turn my attention to--I am not American. This is not an issue that can be set aside. It is a serious moral issue that is affecting the innocence of our children! My heart breaks for the next generation!
