Im ashamed to say I was one in the crowd
I watched this man stumble through the streets
Holding a plank of wood upon his shoulders
he looked alone, he looked deserted, he looked weak
Im ashamed to say I was one in the crowd
I watched his eyes, I watched his face
I saw the pain he new would come
I watched him cry out in agony
as the nails went in, one by one
Im ashamed to say I was one in the crowd
How much the mob hated this man
They shouted and spat and cried
They mocked him until the hour
When his body collapsed and he died
Im ashamed to say I was one in this crowd
I shouted, I spat, I cried
This man was innocent
The Son of God
For that very crowd he was Crucified
I watched this man stumble through the streets
Holding a plank of wood upon his shoulders
he looked alone, he looked deserted, he looked weak
Im ashamed to say I was one in the crowd
I watched his eyes, I watched his face
I saw the pain he new would come
I watched him cry out in agony
as the nails went in, one by one
Im ashamed to say I was one in the crowd
How much the mob hated this man
They shouted and spat and cried
They mocked him until the hour
When his body collapsed and he died
Im ashamed to say I was one in this crowd
I shouted, I spat, I cried
This man was innocent
The Son of God
For that very crowd he was Crucified
