It seems to me the issue is with how he is defining "religious experience," as he seems to be limiting it to experiences of ecstacy. First, given that religious experience is not empirically identifiable whether ecstacy or not the claim that his experience(or that of any other) is equivalent to the experiences of others. Essentially, the argument assumes at the outset that the experience is internal rather than an external encounter and so concludes that it is nothing more than a product of internal causes. Real experinces of God are not all ecstatic, though.

The second issue is the arbitrary requirement for proof, that is almost certainly a form of special pleading since it is doubtful he holds his own worldview to the same scrutiny. If we held every proposition to the level of proof required of God that atheists demand we would be left concluding that knowledge is impossible as we cannot establish a frame for knowledge that does not involve a dogmatic assumption(barring circular reasoning and infinite regress.)

Sometimes you can disprove. For example, the "His Name Is Flowing Oil" grifter was caught buying gallons of very un-miraculous mineral oil at Tractor Supply. Pretty much put the quietus on that racket.
It becomes more a translation issue and not a disproving of a statement.

Curious how some people are so wary of experiences and distrust people that say had them etc, and the whole bible was written because some people had experiences with God. Think about it.
And when you think about it, you realize that God is not the only source of spiritual experiences. . .and there are ways to tell the difference.

Nothing curious about that. . .think about it.

I would sidestep the whole question of religious experience, develop a friendly relationship with him, witness to him the reasons I believe, invite him to a small group, do things you can share together, and at some point share with him the gospel, all the while waiting for God to work in his life. If he doesn't come to believe, at least you've done your part.

But people shouldn't be 'afraid' of spiritual experiences, they need to gladly want them, not that you will accept anything as a son or daughter of God as an experience from him, that is basic stuff knoweldge and caution i say. But as the people in the bible received things from God, this are some of the biblical experiences we can receive: Enter the Holy place, be in Gods presence, receive living water in our inner being, our heart can be filled with love, receive heavenly 'gifts', be filled with the Holy spirit, all this things can be 'noticed' by you when it happens. And God have a lot more than this.

You are looking for an experience with God?, i don't know really what kind of useful advice i can give, but some years ago i read a tract, it said if you are holding back something you can't convert if you want to keep a sin, or not lower your pride to God, or not follow christ, or something i don't know, converting to christ is like jumping into a pool it's all or nothing, you can't jump half to see what is going to happen, you need to make the jump all of you, but nobody regretted afterwards accepting Jesus and making a commitment to follow him.

I'm looking for the truth.
His name is Jesus, apart from whom no truth can be known. GM Skeptic(and other atheists) build on a foundation of ignorance and no matter how great their tower of "knowledge" grows it is never able to overcome that foundation.
