On FIRE?

About being "on fire." A big part of it is who is fueling the flames? Are you trying to get into the Word and pray because it's good for you? Or are you doing those things because you are seeking after God with all you got. Are you loving God with all your heart, mind and soul? Being on fire comes from one thing and one thing only: Your desire to know God better. And when you've got that desire, he fills you up and fuels your flame. But if you're going to church, reading the Bible, and praying because it's the Christian thing to do and you want to be a good Christian, it's like artificial fuel. It's not from God, it's your own efforts. It's like eating an artificial apple. YUCK! It comes only from God filling you ever growing desire to grow closer and deeper with him.

AMEN!!!
I'd like to add also is that: I think when you are broken and humbled before God and after recieving the revelation of the cross and how SINFUL we are and experiencing God's GRACE. That's when the fire comes. (Kind of like when Jesus said that those who sin much, love much) I mean look at Paul and how much he had prosecuted the church and also the prostitute. Man, I praise God for the changes and miracles he has done in people's lives. In the bible and in the lives of the people around me. PRAISE THE LORD and GLORY BE TO HIM FOREVER AND EVER. AMEN!!!!

I have to agree that Being on Fire is a burning passion to live for the Lord. It like fire shut up in your bones. the lord wants us to be close to him. God is a jealous God--He does not want anyhing before him.

We must be passionate about reading the word, loving one another, and spreading his word---Like you can't wait to get out and tell someone about this fire and express your joy of the Savior.

I will keep you in my prayers. The fire is contagious--People will see you as a different person and want to know the joy you have.

When you're on fire for the Lord, it shows. It really does. It can't be hidden even if you try, and you are so right, it's contagious. heeheee.

Great stuff, some words from scripture I think have been trivialized due to the common use of those words without understanding what they mean. I'm not pointing fingers, I'm a perpetrator, so it is awesome to really look into those favorite verses that have turned cliche and dig down into what's really being said. Much applause guys and gals.
