  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I love the Olympics, but im so sick of Bob Costos i could scream. Who exactly decided he was the last line of defence when it comes to world sports??? He has no personality and i hate it during his show that they wont just show one event, finish it then go to another. The other stations have been doing great tho, they have been showing ALL of 1 event (even if its badmitton).

To bad the attendance hasnt been great. But im sure glad that so far its gone off without a hitch.

I feel sorry for Paul Hamm. It's surprising to see the score of the Russian gymnist changed after the Malaysian and Canadian judges gave him too low of a score. If there hadn't been a problem with the competition Paul Hamm won do you think the crowd would have acted the way they did when the Russian gymnist got a low score? Svatlana Khorkina blamed America for fixing her competition and I wonder how that affected the crowd. The Russian gymnist definately deserved a higher score but I don't know how much other things affected the audience.

The Russian gymnist Negev seemed like he was as nice as he was great at gymnastics.

I've been watching a lot of the olympics, I sail myself, so I've been trying to watch that everytime it's on, but because I don't have digital we only get 5 min round ups a couple of times a day. I've also been watching the other events if they've been on while I've been around, I totally agree about the scoring last night, what was up with those judges?

I know there was something about one set of judges scoring for how difficult and another set for deductions but still...wow...yeah he got ripped of there...grrrr...and then honestly I don't know how Paul got what he did...but I do feel so bad for Paul because none of it is his fault about the scoring...
