I'll be excited when all the runnin' starts! :D Of course, with a name like "crossrunner" one can understand why. :)
My favorite event will always be the marathon...and to watch it take place in the country of its birth will be fun for me.

 I've always been bored with the Olympics. The boring sports like gymnastics, track and field and swimming or diving get way too much air time, because that's what the networks think the majority of Americans like. I'm speaking of broadcast tv here, I don't know what cable coverage of the Olympics is like.

I saw that basketball game, and now I think I'm going to watch more basketball. I felt like team U.S.A. should sort of snap out of it and give it more effort. It sort of feels like they think they are the 'big dogs' and no one can mess with them, so they don't have to really try that hard.
I do hope that they get it together in the end.

Although that Carlos Arroyo guy was really cool.

I like watching the Olympics! So far I have seen Water Polo, Kayaking, and Beach Volleyball. I really like the Gymnastics and other sports like the 100m sprint as well. Too bad Canada isn't doing all that great medal wise, but I have been proud of some of the athletes already!

I've been enjoying the Olympics but I wish they would talk more about the competitors like they did at the Sydney games. It's not as interesting knowing nothing about the athletes and with all the information they've given about Michael Phelps and Ian Thorpe it's made the swimming competitions really fun to watch.

Also in gymnastics, diving and other competitions with judges giving scores I wish they would show what each nation's judge gives. They did that in past years but this year they usually just give the final score. Although they did show the scores from each judge in most of the diving competitions I haven't seen that at all yet in gymnastics competitions. I became even more upset they didn't show that last night because although I'm glad Paul Hamm won the gold medal but it seems like he would have lost more points in his failed vault and I would have liked to see how much of a range of scores he got for the vault.

I've seen very little water polo and want to see more of that but I've seen way too much beach volley ball. I'm also eager to see the running competitions particularly the sprints. The marathon usually doen't interest me but it will be interesting to see it in the same country that created the event 108 years ago. I've most enjoyed the swimming and gymnastics competitions.

Who do you think did best in the womens gymnastics competition? I wanted Khorkina (Russia) to win at first but Pavlova (Romania) did the best so then I wanted her to win but not only did she not win but Patterson (Texas), the very last one to perform, knocked her out of the bronze position to fourth place.

Phelps won a gold medal and then 30 minutes later broke the Olympic record in a semifinal competition. During the opening ceremonies they were talking about how he was going to compete in 8 swimming competitions and that they expected him to tie the record for medals won in a year I didn't think he would do it because he would have to get a medal in every competition but now I expect him to get that record with mostly gold medals. He's a really incredible athlete.

I got a funny question in a different message board: If one member of a synchronized swimming team drowns, do they all have to?
