As long as we deal in doubts and fears; as long as we sit in judgment on ourselves, we will never arrive. You will never enjoy those things that are written. Old things have passed away...... What old things? Bondage, fear, doubt, want, sickness, weakness, and failure are gone.

So how do we act on this? Do we confess something in hopes of possessing it? Is that what preaching the righteousness in Christ is all about?. Are we no longer weak because we simply say we are not?

Of all possessions there is nothing greater than knowing Christ....Now how does that change our thinking, our poor health (of which many have), of poverty (which many have). To every man is given a measure of faith. What more is required? Do we lie and say that we are free of sickness or want, when all around us is proof to the contrary? Your thoughts.

No E.W. Kenyon stuff, just your own thoughts, please.

I personally believe that being thankful to God in all circumstances helps tremendously is seeing God's blessing regardless of circumstances. Godliness with contentment is great gain.

God will heal if He will heal, He also provides peace regardless if we will let Him.
It is a spiritual principle to work hard and diligently and God blesses that.

There is something about living a quiet, grateful, obedient life that is deeply satisfying and honoring to God.

We have been given more than we ever deserved in forgiveness of sins and being able to even be in relationship with the most Wonderful Father God, a life of gratefulness that comes out of that is a happy and fulfilled one. God be praised always.

Hebrews 8:7, 9-13 NKJV
For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second. [9] not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the LORD. [10] ... I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE. [11] None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. [12] For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more." [13] In that He says, "A new covenant, " He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

2 Corinthians 5:16-17 NKJV
Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. [17] Therefore, IF ANYONE IS IN CHRIST, HE IS A NEW CREATION; OLD THINGS HAVE PASSED AWAY; BEHOLD, ALL THINGS HAVE BECOME NEW.

Revelation 21:3-5 NKJV
And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and THEY SHALL BE HIS PEOPLE. GOD HIMSELF WILL BE WITH THEM AND BE THEIR GOD. [4] AND GOD WILL WIPE AWAY EVERY TEAR FROM THEIR EYES; THERE SHALL BE NO MORE DEATH, NOR SORROW, NOR CRYING. THERE SHALL BE NO MORE PAIN, FOR THE FORMER THINGS HAVE PASSED AWAY." [5] Then He who sat on the throne said, "BEHOLD, I MAKE ALL THINGS NEW." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful."

All of these verses are nice, quaint but nice. There are no answers here only a presentation in the manner in which we should live according to the verses mentioned; "there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying" doesn't say the same thing as, "You have a deviated septum or crocked spine or a bad sciatic nerve." The doctor doesn't say "wait here and be patient and that tumor in your brain will disappear." Some folks are at a point where they are cashing in their chips; their prayer chips, their hanky's, their days of insomnia due to pain, they are cashing them in and have every right to demand care. Not, "You are my people, just understand no matter how tough the going gets, I'm right beside you." What purpose does disability serve other than to be disabled? I'm convinced that no Christian doctrine has the answers to these questions.

Kenneth Copeland is worth millions, if not trillions and that doesn't seem to throw up a question in anybody's mind? Has anyone read Bosworth's book "Christ the Healer?" Now that's a book for those who wish to condemn themselves for lacking things. Either Christ died for our sins and our health or He didn't, that's all there is to it. And I for one have nowhere else to go, "Only He has the words of eternal life." Where else is there to go, whether it involves suffering to its maximum intolerable state, where else have we to go?

I live according to what I said in my post.
God is my peace and help... regardless of my circumstances... because as you say there is no where else to go.

I do not have physical pain that is intolerable, I do not know how people in that situation do it. But I have had my fair share of suffering, some that will not end til I die and God does walk with me through it - and for me that is the greatest comfort there is. Without Him I would not be here, literally I would have killed myself by now, but He is my portion, the strength of my heart, whom have I in heaven but Him and earth has nothing I desire besides Him.

He upholds with His right hand and afterward will lead us into glory.

I will not let someone else tell me I lack and do not believe enough when He tells me and I choose to believe as He tells me that in Him I have everything I need for life and godliness.

It must be terrible to be in constant pain so again I do not speak from experience with that but only from where God has met me in my own suffering and seen me through it and continues to see me through it.
God is faithful.. always.

Not taking anything away from going to God as your answer. That is certainly true.

But also remember that even Jesus had to have someone carry his cross part of the way when he lacked strength to carry his cross the whole way.

We all come into this world as babies dependent 100% upon the care of others for survival. There are times when God will send someone else along to help us through when we break under the load, even if it is just for a short season.

Keep looking to God first , but don't rule out those He may send to help you through when the load is too heavy.

We all hope for health and to at least be able to meet our basic needs. I am unsure what you are really saying, I think you don't want to say it. I have been a good follower so now what? Why are things not better?

Is that it?

My wife has been seriously ill for over a decade. We take life one moment at a time. I still work and thankfully God has placed me in a very good position, work-wise. I can come and go freely when it becomes necessary to conduct different tests or provide her with medications. Money is an object, but with the best of health care, we manage.

She does not want to take medications anymore. The medications have taken away from her the very joy she once knew. When she stays off her meds for awhile, bad things happen.

She not only lives with chronic pain, she is bipolar. Bipolar medication causes a patient to gain weight and my wife does not like facing the day knowing she has gained another pound. Without the medication her chances of flare-ups, panic attacks, those things which bring on a bipolar attack, are working against her.

Her life is her garden and our min-pin, Boo. Donnas' pain levels are severe and brought on by fibromyalgia and neuropathy, all through her body. it is not uncommon to find her quietly living in misery or crying her eyes out in the bedroom.

She prays often and when not in her right mind over the pain, she can cuss like a sailor. I don't begrudge her that. In that hell she does not take the Lord's name in vain and for that, we are both grateful. Many people don't believe it, but pain has a voice all its own.

We own a lovely home, totally renovated and surrounded in the front with beautiful flowers. Our home is our castle and we will own it in thirty three months. When Donna first took sick she lost everything that meant so much to her; driver's license, freedom to drive and move around, money in her pocket, and Lordy how she loved to go to work.

Today, her time is spent in her garden and caring for Boo. When I come home from work, I walk Boo, cook, do a little laundry and we sit out in the new patio. Boo is learning not to fear a doggy-door.... it's taking time, though.

We love the Lord and go about getting through this life one day, or sometimes one moment at a time. We've learned that doctrine divides so many people and so many faiths. Our hope is in Christ and His promise of eternal life.
