"The Mistake of “Time”


There is an old story that has been around for quite some time about a man who gained some insight into the world of the devil and his evil ploys. On the throne was the devil himself and he was addressing his horrible hordes. With a loud voice, he cried out, “Who will go to the earth and persuade men to accomplish the ruin of their souls?”
One of the sniveling spirits spoke up, “I will, sir!” “And how will you persuade them?” “I will persuade them that there is no heaven, sir!” But the devil looked at him and said, “No, that won’t work. You will never be able to force such a belief of mankind at large.” With
that the devil loudly repeated his question, “Who will go to the earth and persuade men to ruin their souls?”
A second demon stepped forward, “I will, sir!” “And how will you persuade them?” “I will persuade them that there is no hell, sir!” But the devil looked at this one too, and said, “No, that won’t work either. You will never be able to persuade them of that because the voice of their conscience will rail against you. We must have something else, something which will work and appeal to all classes and ages and personalities.”
Then a dark spirit glided forward and simply said, “I will go, sir.” “And what will you tell them?” The dark spirit said, “I will tell them that they have time, sir! I will say that there is no hurry, and no reason to worry.”
He was the spirit that was chosen to go. . . . .and he is still quite at large in our world today.

The Fire of God.

Acts 2:1-4
And when the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place
2And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3And there appeared unto them cloven tongues as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

It's sad that in most of the church world today the fire of God is seldom if ever mentioned. The results in the believers life-No fire means a powerless life. This is opposite of the way Jesus intended for it to be. Jesus wants our lives to be full of vigor, life, excellence, and boldness! It's life and LIFE MORE ABUNDANTLY!!!
Most of the church world is in a pathetic shape and has fulfilled what Paul said, that in the last days there would be many that have a form of godliness, but deny the power(THE FIRE!) thereof.
By denying the power of God they are in a sense denying the fire of God. They are saying in a sense, "I don't need your fire in my life, I don't need the baptism of the Holy Ghost, our church programs don't have room for that!" The church world has come to a place where we've gone back to the book of judges where every man "does what is right in his own sight."

BUT I BELIEVE that there is still a church! A church that in the last days that still gets excited about the things of God! A church that isn't afraid of the fire! A church that gets excited when they read the words of John the Baptist saying,
"I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but there is one coming after me....he will baptize you with the Holy Ghost and WITH FIRE!
Our God is a God of fire! The Word of God calls Him a CONSUMING FIRE!

1-To have fire there must be a kindling or a fuel to ignite the fire.
On the day of Pentecost there were 120 that were there in one mind and one accord and they were ready to burn! When the Holy Ghost fell they were enveloped in the fire! It was WILD, OUT OF CONTROL FIRE of the Holy Ghost!

2-The fire of God illuminates!
What do people see when they look at us! Because the fire is in us the love and power of God should illuminate from us!
Moses was attracted to-A BURNIING BUSH!

3-The fire of God is not quenched.
Leviticus 6:13 speaks of the fire on the altar, that it shall NEVER GO OUT!
Notice God associates fire with the altar. This is where we need the fire to be, at an altar of prayer. You may be on your last mile, but if you will kneel at an altar of prayer God will re-ignite the fire within you. It was said of Jesus....
"a bruised reed will he not break and a smoking flax shall he not quench!
Some of you are like bruised and broken reeds, your life is empty and the fire is almost out, it's just smoking, but Jesus isn't going to let it be quenched, he's ready to set you aflame for Him again!

4-The fire of God doesn't stand still.
On the day of Pentecost 120 got on fire and by the end of that day over 3,000 were on fire! It's contagious! The fire of God always spreads! Once you get on fire, You've got to spread this message of hope! The fire can't stand still!
In Acts 8 they were scattered because of the persecution but it didn't stop the fire from spreading! The fire spread to Samaria and it says "THERE WAS GREAT JOY IN THAT CITY!"
Acts 1:8 But you shall have POWER after that the Holy Ghost (the fire!) has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses of me..........

5-The fire of God restores broken and shattered lives!
In Luke 9 James, John and Jesus are mistreated by the Samaritans. James and John ask "Lord should we call fire down on them. Jesus said, "you don't know what spirit your of. For the Son of Man has not come to destroy men's lives but to save them!"

If we want revival we have to have the Fire of God in our churches! We have to be consumed by the fire!

Because "It's real, it's real, I know it's real! It's the Pentecostal blessing and I know I know it's real!
