  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's father's day this weekend. What better gift to give than Old Spice cologne?

Does anyone remember the old commercials with the clipper ships? They were all shot in rustic harbor towns.

They used to have their own music jingle. I wish I could remember how it sounded. It was sort of like a British folk tune.

I sure do.I do wonder whatever happened to the Old Spice guy,he was :) well...nice.
I don't remember the guy. Was it like a sailor or fisherman returning to his wife, who waited for him at the door of their quaint cottage?

Ah, Old Spice. (At first I thought you were talking about a member of the Spice Girls.)

When I was a kid that stuff was everywhere, drug stores, K-Mart, etc. When I smelled it, I thought it smelled like rubbing alcohol. (Yuck-o!) I associated it with a cheap gift to get for men that you really don't know well enough to get something nice.

Nahhh....the ultimate cheese in parfum or eau de toilette has got to be ... English Leather... and Brut has to come in a close second.

I used to hate Old Spice. You'd get the bottle and the little grey stopper thing would get lost and it'd evaporate or get spilled all over the place.

Hey, I can think of something worst than Old Spice AND Brut..."Grey Flannel." (At least I think that's what it's called.) I saw the stuff on sale at Christmastime for a really low price. I opened the bottle and sniffed it...now I know why it was on sale. (It was pretty bad smelling.) : (
