Don't get me wrong, I believe in literal Creation as told in scripture as much as anyone else, but does the bible actually give a timeline for the creation of the Universe? At the begining of the Creation of the Earth God is floating above it indicating the basic shape, compasition is already established. Yet no where are we told how long this took so isn't it then possible to believe in the big bang and creation?

The Bible does tell us a timelime, that's what is so amazing! We know the 6 days of creation were 24 hours become God made sure he was clear about. He told us Genesis 1:5 God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning-the first day. This is very important. The day is numbered, we are told there was evening and morning, God couldn't be clearer that it was a 24 hour day. Also in Exodus God tells us: Exodus 20:11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. This is how we get our work week. Pretty amazing I think! As for how we can know the earth is around 6,000 years old the family trees in the Bible add up to about that amount. People will try to argue there are many gaps, there isn't great evidence for that and even if there are some that wouldn't add much time at all to the age of the earth. Finally, don't forget God said: Matthew 19:4 "Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,'. So there wasn't billions of years before God made man. It was at the start. Hope that helps to answer your questions.

Without using any other timelines to define "day" God assures us He's speaking of a day and not years.

Here, He creates the plants in maturity bringing forth fruit on the third day. The sun isn't created until the fourth day. How long could the plants live without the sun? Certainly not years but a day yes, no problem.

Gen 1:11-19
11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.
14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

No, what I meant was that the scripture states that God was floating above the water at the start of Earth but it doesn't relate the timeline in which the actual soild body of Earth was created
I don't understand what your trying to say. Could you please post again, this time with quotes of scripture your referencing and also explaining further what your getting at? Then I may address your point.
