Just when you feel like you don't want to go, that is when you need to go the most. therapy is what you make of it. have an idea about what you would like - are there particular issues that bother you regularly? Do you struggle with anxiety or compulsions? Do you have suicidal thoughts/feel like you just don't want to exist anymore, and you want to learn how to manage things that trigger those thoughts and find a way to build a pattern of healthy thinking/behaviour? At the very least, you could say that you have suicidal thoughts and feelings and you want to find a way to move past them. Medication can sometimes help for people who seriously struggle with feeling suicidal. Trying many different medications in the hope of finding the right one can be rough - went through more than most people before I found one that works for me. If the doctor feels you might benefit from medication, at least give it a try, but try not to be discouraged if you don't see a significant difference. It takes time, and medication alone won't solve anything - you have to make a commitment to therapy as well, to explore your thoughts and your mind in order to find the root causes of your disordered thinking. I was in therapy for 7 years, and I take medication, too. It was rough and it isn't uncommon to want to give up. Just try to push through, and see where this road takes you. You owe it to yourself to explore and see if you can build a better world.
