  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I don't really tend to try to make a lot of connections or anything and I usually see things as being circumstantial, however this one just seems like there is way too much to be circumstantial.

My wife when she moved to this area started seeing my doctor, who has been seeing me since I was like 3.

Here is the weird thing. Whenever my wife calls for an appointment they always seem to give her some far away time at least 2 or 3 days away. However when I call I always get an appointment the same day. I've had at least 4 appointments like this and my wife has probably had about 6.

So this time I offered to call for my wife and schedule the appointment for her. And without fail again I somehow manage to get the appointment for this afternoon.

I don't get this, I would very much think that this doctor's office is far too big to have some personal vendetta against my wife. (Although she does think that one of the receptionists there doesn't like her.) But yet whenever I call they go out of their way to get me in that day. When she calls they never seem to have anything open for the next 2 or 3 days.

Crazy huh?

Sounds like they're playing favorites. Or it's one of those things where they've known you and are familiar with you and even though Melissa is your wife, they're not familiar with her and so therefore they're not going to give her the same treatment as they would you a long time patient. I don't know. Still it seems messed up for them to do something like that.

Well it just seems strange to me because of this.

I should say that I travel a bit to see my doctor and I drive about 30 to 40 min to my old hometown to see him. I do that because he's been seeing me since I was like 3, so there is a comfort level there.

But the thing is this. . . as far as general family practice doctors, they are pretty much the only game in that town of 22,000. My doctor used to own his own practice with another doctor. But basically what happened is a large regional health care company came in to LaPorte and basically bought out all of the family practices as well the vast majority of the specialists in town, built a large clinic and put them all in there.

All of the family practice doctors share the same receptionists now. And thats why I find it strange that they would be playing favorites, they are just too darn big for that now. Outside of the town hospital, Memorial Medical group signs the checks for pretty much every doctor in town with the exception of a few specialists. Almost all of the doctors work in that clinic with the exception of an urgent care facility on the other side of town which I'm pretty sure Memorial Medical group owns that too.

So thats why its just hard for me to belive they are playing favorites.

I'm not too concerned with it, my wife may be changing doctors anyways due partially to health insurance reasons.

Until then I can always call and get her an appointment and stuff like that.

I just thought it was weird especially given the size of the clinic.
