  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Oil Pulling?

Hi CF'ers:wave:

I know this isn't really a singles topic.. but I guess it's a topic that may affect a lot of us.

Have any of you been able to reverse receding gums with oil pulling? I was just doing some research online about it and read some encouraging things.. but have any of you.. or anyone you know.. actually tried it and experienced positive results?

Please PM me with your experiences with oil pulling, or post them here.. thanks!

Any other healthy gum tips are welcome too. God is awesome!! I believe He created our bodies to heal themselves with the proper nutrients, exercise, sleep, etc etc. :)

Thanks for the links with an explanation on what it is! Sorry... I guess I left that part out in the OP. :/

Haven't decided if I will try it yet or not. I am all for natural methods as well! I quit using toothpaste over a year ago and use tooth soap instead. Here's a youtube video that was rather helpful!..

Still looking for anyone who's had success with oil pulling! Or if you know somebody who has.. :) Thanks!

I've heard of oil pulling before. Never actually tried it, but I've heard it works well with some. :)

ETA: ^ Tooth soap, FTW! I have a yummy peppermint flavor. :yum: ... ^_^
Thanks for the comment! Do you use the chips or liquid tooth soap?? The place I get mine just recently started making the liquid but I'm still using the chips.

I'm still undecided on oil pulling but thanks for sharing that some benefit from it! As long as I'm convinced it doesn't make things worse I might be more apt to give it a try ^_^

Went to the first store I tried a few days ago and they put in a request for it since they dont' have it in stock. They're supposed to call when/if it comes in!!!

But for starters... I have some olive oil sitting infront of me!! Haven't tried it just yet.....

Edit: I was only going to do it for 5 min.. but ended up doing it for 22!! While OP'ing, *warning.. this will sound a bit gross!* I got a bit of phlegm in my throat, my hip started hurting (my joints pop a lot..), and my sinus area feels a bit strange. Oh, and there was a little hunk of something in my mouth.. tartar I think, not a tooth :D Told ya it was kinda gross! But I think I'll keep it up. I used olive oil.
