  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My name is Rob, I'm mid/late twenties and I'm in New Zealand. I've been linked here from the Christ Krew (Christian paintball club) thread over on pbnation dot com :)

Why am I here... partly because I don't go to a church right now and after going along to all the ones around my remote little town I just can't find a home that is theologically sound among other things. Since I believe in being plugged in to a network of believers, I've signed up here!

I'm a concept artist and 3D artist by trade meaning I design and make digital props and costumes and sets for movies and games and stuff, and my hobbies are unicycling and paintball.

My words also. I gave up finding a home and found a home with Our Father in Heaven and His Son Jesus Christ as revealed in the Bible!!

Try constant reading of the Scriptures, prayer, and maybe fasting for a day or two, also getting completely alone with God and Jesus. It works miracles in spiritual growth.

You may want to consider meditation as well. Prayer alone is like trying to build a house with one hand tied behind your back. David spent a lot of time in meditation.
And it will probably take more than several days to make enough of a difference. Try a month. I do go to church but do not believe exactly the same. I just feel sorry for my brothers and sisters and want to be close when help is needed.
