  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I start classes tomorrow as a freshman. That, I'm sort of ok with. To get there, I get to ride the city bus. fun.

I know I'm not alone. I just need someone to "console" me.

Hey benedictine

I know what being a freshman in college is like. It's a little scary but I'm sure with God's strength you'll do just fine. If you need any more encouragement, prayer or if you want me to answer any of you freshman questions^_^ , feel free to PM me :) .

God Bless :)

You'll do just fine! I think you will see that college is much more laid back than high school and there isn't as much pressure. I personally believe college is a lot easier than high school... I did horrible in high school, but I do much better in college because I find it easier.

You are going to have those classes you dread, but know that you can get through them! College is simple, and will be some of the best years of your life (not saying they will be your best, because I don't know...but they will be great and memorable!)

I am going into my fifth year of college and I still get nervous... I start classes today and I am so nervous... only because I have OCD and I am so afraid of walking into the wrong class, even though I know it isn't... I will sit there and stare at my schedule until it "feels right"

It can be a big change, I won't lie.

But you will do fine!

Riding the city bus may open your eyes a little if you have never rode one before. All kinds of people. You get used to it though.

G'luck son!

Oh, one last thing: Don't be surprised if your scores are in the middle of the class, when before they were in the top 1%. Colleges are selective, so by numbers, someone has to be 'average'. Happens at Standford I've heard. Everywhere probably.
