Hi guys, after attending a UMC for a few years, I have decided to become a member.

Thanks. Theologically, it hasn't been a big leap for me coming from Calvary Chapel, a non-denominational evangelical group of churches. Only a few relatively minor differences. The outworking of my faith has grown in this UMC, which is much more active in the local community. CC has a big emphasis on world missions and Bible study, while this UMC has a bigger focus on community work. I hope to add a little more Bible study to this church (I already lead one and several other small groups have already started).

I still wrestle with the ordination of women, infant baptism, and a few other potential issues like unrepentant gay clergy; but no church is going to agree with me on every issue (too many YEC's in CC).
