The longest tunnel I've ever been in is under the Chesapeake Bay..pretty cool.

Trains go past just up the road a bit from our home. It's somehow soothing listening to them at night.

Speaking of tunnels. There are 3 tunnels on the "Needles" highway in the Black Hills of South Dakota. As you drive through the tunnels you can see Mount Rushmore in the opposite opening of the tunnel. All 3 tunnels were aligned that way by design. Very cool.

There aren't many passenger trains in Portland. I wish there were more, I thnk I'd rather get on a train than drive or fly somewhere. It's so much more relaxing. Besides you can get up and move around. In cars and airplanes ou're stuck in a sitting position. I don't do well being couped up for hours at a time.
