Good idea. I'll have to work it into a conversation.

Pray with me that if God thinks this guy is a good match for me, that it will somehow come up in a conversation soon.

Hmm...maybe I also need to be a little less close to Joe for a while while I see where this goes.
lambslove,

Looks like you have gotten some postive advice on this situation. It can be seen from what you say her that you like this fellow. I think if you show him that, then things will happen. Perhaps, he is just being considerate to you, since he may think that you are still involved with your ex. He doesn't want to put you in an awkard position, and destroy the friendship that you currently have with him, by making you aware of the romantic feelings that he has for you. He probably feels that His romantic feelings will be unwanted by you. So based on what I have read here, and am starting to think. You may very well have yourself a very nice and considerate man on your hands. If you let him know the romance light is green, then things will be a go. I think the both of you will be happy campers.

Make sense?

He's definitely a nice and considerate man.

Now, how does a shy person tell another shy person that the romance light is green? :o

This is a good question, and we need someone other than the village idiot on romance to answer it. However, you could always put a big lip-lock on him, that would do it. :)

Oh, I think we are just having some fun, desper84unity. :) Of course if lamb feels she is brave enough, who knows? ;)

But desper84unity does make a solid suggestion. If you don't feel too comfortable confronting this fellow face to face just yet, perhaps questioning some mutual friends may be a way to gauge his feelings to see if he is interested in more than just friends and to see if he mistakenly thinks you are still with Joe. Couldn't hurt......

If I may:

I haven't read all of this topic. Only the first page. But there was a girl who I was completely head over heels for freshman year and last year. I never made a move because I thought that she wouldn't care and now in retrospect, I think she was responding more than I thought at the time and would have possibly reciprocated my emotions. Long story short, we'd probably be an item now. Of course I had my own problems back then that made me unfit for a relationship, but still the principle stands. And now that I'm stable and confident, she has a boyfriend. I make myself get over it, but I still from time to time kick myself for not trying. I think it's better knowing than regretting. Only a 19 year old's advice, but for what it's worth.....

Well, um, nothing has changed...

I don't want to intrude on his life, and when he's running "cool" so to speak, I don't feel like I can approach him in that way. I want to do something, I just don't know what or how.

He's supposed to drop by later today, so I'll see how he is, and if he seems warm and receptive, I might ask him if he wants to go hiking, an activity we both enjoy. Then if we do that, I might bring it up then.

Pray that this goes whatever way the Lord thinks best.

Well, ok if the hiking doesn't work you.. you always have my plan as a backup. :D

On a serious note, I will pray for you about this. I really hope you recieve God's best out of this situation. I may get in trouble here, but I honestly think that if you show some geniune intrest in him, and he reciporcates that interst back to you, and you just kind of work into things slow. Then things will work out.

I can tell from the things you say, that you are not a lady who wastes her time on unworthy people. So, I am sure this man is special. I really hope things do work out for the both of you.

I sincerly mean that.

Aww, you're so sweet!

How come you're not married yet? (oops, sorry, I was channeling my grandmother for a second.)

I know that God will always give me his best, because he's never given me anything less.

It's when I take whatever I want without waiting for Him that I get into trouble.

I really appreciate your prayers on this matter. He might be a really special guy, but I don't know him well enough to know that yet.

Well thanks, that's nice of you to say. I didn't even have to give you a big lick lock either. :D

Oh gee, what a loaded question. Are you sure you want me to answer?
I think there are multiple reasons, perhaps I should list them out.

1. If you are single, available, and I like you, then you don't think I'm "sweet".
2. I'm picky.
3. Poor social skills
4. Boring list of extracuricular activities.
5. Hard on the eyes.
6. I'm not a "ladies man" (smothie..etc)
7. I drive a truck (New Ranger FX4) I like it perhaps I should post a pic
8. Quiet (Relates to Item 3)
9. Not to interested in having kids. (This usually deters the women decribed in my other thread.) If you want to discuss PM me.
10. The abilitly to find someone with mutal intrests seems to be as easy as finding the holy grail or something. If I like them, they don't like me and vice versa.
11. I'm tired of getting burnt by these sort of things, so I avoid them like that plague. One of my goals was to see how many fix-ups that I could get out of. (7 in 2 years) in I remember right. So, it usually take someone pretty special to catch my attention. Kind of hard to get married when I refuse to meet people.

See, you asked!! :D

I don't know how old you are. but let me say - you want to get to be freinds with anyone that you want to "date" before you date them. get to be freinds - then if things go further - fine. I think it is pretty useless to date someone you barely know.

Being friends is the first step to get to.

Well, let me rephrase that. I've known him 8 years, and we are sort of what passes for friends around here, and we've had conversations, so he isn't a stranger or anything, I just don't know him deeply, and we're both rather shy and hard to get to know.

And as I said, I'm fine with just being friends with him, and the whole thing now seems so silly...

Never mind, forget I even asked.
