Pull this again and I will put on a fur suit and terrorize the staff the next time they go to church!
That is all.
Jesus's main teachings were love, mercy, hope, forgiveness, grace... and all around Christiandom I see finger pointing, condemnation, hatred, judgements...I hear you. After spending some time on the Rapture Ready forums, I find that there are Christians out there that do not honestly believe in Jesus's teachings. They just simply enjoy the status of being saved.
Truth be known, a major factor for me being drawn to God is the fact that a person like me can greatly benefit in a system ran by Jesus ruling with a rod of iron. I'm nowhere near the kind of person the world (or Christendom) wants and I can barely take care of myself due to my disability and disrupted upbringing. People judging worsens not only my situation but many others who did not win the grace lottery.
While I often struggle with this myself, I believe that on the judgement day we will have God show us a list of our advantages and disadvantages and weight them on a scale. He'll ask us, "With all of the gifts, talents, and privileges I have given you, what have you done to advance my Kingdom?"
There's going to be many shocks on that day.
Oh I definately reccommend it. Very good movie imo.I just did some reading on that film and I'm going to give that movie a look. Sounds like something I can relate to.
Yeah, eugenics seems pretty awful. I don't believe it's natural anyway, takes away the miracle of procreation in my opinion. The Bible actually has some interesting things to say about this generation...
"But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth." ~2 Timothy 3:1-7
Christians aren't immune to narcissism either. "I'm not the bad one. I'll prove it to you by making someone else appear worse than I am." That's exactly how people think whether they're religious or not.
I recently read about eugenics during the early 20th century that involved preachers supporting it. There was even a contest with a large cash prize on who could make the best sermon supporting eugenics as a solution to sin and moral degradation. Let that sink in. You got preachers supporting a system that would bring harm and persecution to the vulnerable. Jesus said Christians are supposed to protect the vulnerable, the closest to God's heart.
Basically eugenics appeals to people's pride that they're somehow superior to others and have the right to judge others in that regard. Eugenics is now out of favor because of what the Nazis did but we will always try to find another way to build ourselves up by knocking others down. Nowadays it seems like politics is fueling that bicep measuring contest among Christians, especially in the US.
Nice man I'm glad you really enjoyed it. The part where he talks about heaven really connected for me too. Tom Hanks reply and acting throughout the whole movie was great.Watched it last night without knowing it was 3 hours long. It was a very good film that had me laughing and crying at certain parts. Some of the scenes also made me think about things.
The scene where Arlen Bitterbuck tells Paul about the happiest time of his life and his hopes that Heaven will be that time again except it will never end. I had strong feelings about this scene as if I was Bitterbuck. I can think of a scenario where I would be very happy and wish it would never end. That would be Heaven for me.
Another scene where John Coffey explains how he is tired of life because of all the evil in the world. I also had strong feelings about this because it's exactly how I felt about life for a long time. I'm tired of living in a world that is destroying itself because the people here made life into a never ending bicep measuring contest. I never liked sports day as a kid because I found it to be unnecessary competition but later I realize that life is all about competition and comparison. In God's world it isn't the case but we made it that way to fuel our own pride.
Others have pointed out the similarities of John Coffey to Jesus Christ. Both felt evil in the world more than others, both were falsely accused, both were loved by those who knew them and hated by those who didn't, both were brutally executed, both share the same initials, both had powers to heal people and end their suffering... I was surprised that Stephen King wrote this story because usually his books portray Christian characters as crazy fundamentalists. This story was very beautiful.
I stopped posting in the other forums for the most part. I believe there's a lot of false Christians in the other forums, many genuine ones but many false ones aswell.I made the mistake of posting my views in the discussion and debate forums again. This time it was about people campaigning for pedophilia rights. I posted an observation that this past decade or so we have seen a slippery slope happen in the name of human rights. First homosexuality was removed as a mental disorder and eventually got normalized. Then transgenderism got removed as a mental disorder and is becoming normalized. Now there are movements to get pedophilia removed as a mental disorder and I see where this is likely leading to, especially when taking on a Bible prophecy perspective.
As usual, people twist my words, ridicule me, and think that they're the smartest people on the forum. Right now I feel exactly like what I quoted above. While people are content with living in a crapsack world, I'm really not all that happy with how it is or where it is going because I actually see the world in a different light than others.
Being designed by God to think differently has been more of a curse than anything else. When I'm wrong, then I'm wrong. When I'm right, I'm still wrong. I can say one thing and people will hear/read something totally different. I see this world is declining faster than ever before and no one else seems to notice.
With Trump's Middle East peace push advancing at breakneck speed, I'm hoping I won't have to deal with this kind of social friction with others anymore.
We'll always love you in here, MehGuy. To be honest, I'm afraid to move in those circles of CF anyway. To be fair I do not get along with most in the debate and discussion forums either.. lol.
Although at this point, many do not even seem to want to respond to my posts anymore which is fine by me. Lol.
