Odors and Aromas

Have you ever experienced Odors or Aromas during prayer or other times?
Specifically, flowers or odor like potpourri. What do you think this means?
A few months ago, my wife and I lost a friend to COVID. As we were morning that evening, we both experienced a strong flowery odor, so much that we looked at each other and then looked around the room for the source of this odor, finding none. In the last week, I have been experiencing a potpourri scent, again with no apparent source.

Yes. Had the same reaction - looked for the source first.

Later looked for Scripture.

God can use our physical senses as shown -
-Isaiah 6 Ezekiel saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple." He heard the seraphims cry "Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.:" "...the house was filled with smoke." but don't see where it specifically states there was a smell.
-Peter saw, heard, and felt an angel. Acts 12:7
-In I Kings 19:7, Elijah saw and ate the food (food usually has a smell).
-Ezekiel wrote, "So I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth" (Ezek. 3:1-3).
-John received a scroll from an angel. He wrote, "It tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it, my stomach turned sour" (Rev. 10:8-10).

It was very unexpected - probably like those above as well as others.

Also, looking for odors and aromas in Scripture included "Then the Lord rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah—from the Lord out of the heavens." Gen 19:24

This is as far as I've gotten looking at this - everything God does has a purpose.

Welcome! I see no scriptural reference where Christians experience such things.

Looked at Scripture again. Smell is from Gen to Rev Already posted about some ways God uses our physical senses for spiritual purposes.

Yes, but due to my history (see introduction), I will often smell urine or decay, and I know there are demons around. Thankfully, it has subsided a bit recently.

This reminds me of a lady at church who was prayed for about having cancer,and shortly after she experienced a lovely aroma and just knew it was the presence of the holy spirit.

I woke up one morning to smell smoke. It was not windy so I wasn't smelling the neighbour's woodstove. I came downstairs to inspect everything. Nothing. Brushed it off as nothing. The next morning, however, I was led to read Revelation 19:1-3

And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:

2For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great harlot, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

3And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.

If that's not a warning from the Lord, I don't know what is!

Yes!! I used to have that happen off and on for years as a kid and adult! Sometimes while walking to elementary school I used to smell what I thought was a perfume scent that I can't describe. The scent followed me as I walked. Also sometimes when I came home and no one was home, I would walk in the house and smell that same scent! I was searching for the origen of the scent and nothing in the house had that scent, like soap or laundry soap etc. Nothing smelled like that scent. I would even smell that same mysterious scent as an adult too. I never found the source. I tried every perfume I could find and none matched that scent! I figured it was my guardian angel.
