[SHADOW=crimson]Ok everyone here is my testimony[/SHADOW]
Warning; it's not that exciting or shocking....

I grew up going to a Presbyterian church in Wayne, Pennsylvania. This was the area where I lived until the end of 11th grade. My parents sent me to a Christian camp in the poconos called Kirkwood (Summers of 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, and 1992). I loved it there; many of the youth from my church went and it was a blast, and full of good teaching too. I also was sent to a Christian youth conference at the shore in New Jersey in the summers of 1989, 1990, and 1991. Though I went to church and sunday school and youth group my whole youth, it was at this camp and this conference where I received most of my teaching regarding salvation basic Christian living.

I was saved at Kirkwood in 1989. It wasn't an earth shattering, teary experience, but it was the real thing. My parents, who believe in infant baptism, did not have me baptized as a baby because they were in the process of moving to the Philadelphia area when I was one. So I got baptized in the pres. church in the summer 1990. It was sprinkling.

From that point until about 1996, I slowly matured, in small steps, as a Christian. Some even doubted the genuineness of my salvation. But when I went away to college at Millersville University, near Lancaster, PA, I was exposed for the first time to evangelical Christianity and good solid Bible based teaching. I grew rapidly at a time in my life when many would fall away into the pit of alcoholism, partying, and sexual promiscuity.

Graduating in December of 1998, I moved to State College, PA where the Lord provided immediatly a job in my field. I got married in May 2000 to a female that I met in college. We got baptized in our baptist church shortly before the wedding (actually I think it was October of 1999) because the church baptizes all new believers who where not baptized by immersion. I realize that it was obedient to God's word. We both work with the junior high youth group now, something I never thought I could do. It's quite enjoyable and fun, and I hope to continue to grow in Christ and serve.

Nice to meet you, October. Welcome aboard!

I come from a Baptist background, too, and have attended both Southern and Conservative Baptist churches. Currently, my hubby and I are members of a non-denominational church in which our pastor also comes from a Baptist background.

Do enjoy it here. And thanks for introducing yourself.

Blessings,

Pat
