When I lived in NC we went every year, but we live in AZ now and went to San Diego this summer. Love the beach, but the water is chilly! Even in July. Lots of kelp beds too. But I still love it, the whole ambience, the gulls, sand, salt air, etc!

I take it for granted at times that we have the Ocean so close when many don't.
I love it more than land, and I believe there's so much out there we don't even
realize. It's vast and mysterious.Fins excite me too.I love to see them(from the boat side)

The Ocean is great I live in Oregon about 40 minutes drive to the coast. The water is cold where I live but the vistas are magnificent. I tried uploading some pictures but that doesn't seem to be working, so you will just have to take my word for it.

When we were first married we lived in a harbor in California. I would take walks down to the beach all the time. I loved watching the porpoises! Occassionally, when we drove down the coast, we would see whales too. I miss that. We're in Northwestern NJ now; two hours from the Atlantic...which is NOTHING like the Pacific.
