• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I’m so scared that I’m eternally condemned. I thought about getting the mark of the beast and immediately after I felt so scared. I prayed to God for forgiveness. Will God forgive me for wanting to get the mark? I really don’t want to get the mark and never would. Maybe it’s my OCD convincing me I want it. The main question is: if someone thought that they would get the mark and imagined it, and then prayed to God for forgiveness, will he forgive them? Please answer. I’m terrified.

I’m going through the exact same thing right now. It may not be your ocd, it might be your flesh. Your Spirit and flesh are battling. You are God’s Child, you have the mark of Jesus Christ from His blood. Please do not fear God is holding you no matter what happens, I though it was the end for me with such fears thinking that I want to do something very sinful even though I did not. I have and am overcoming you can too. I’m so sorry you are going through this and I’m Praying

Thank you for replying. It’s hard to know what you’re really thinking with OCD because it makes me think I want to do things I don’t want to. I hope God understands. Do you think I should be scared?

Jesus promised to aways hear us, further in 1john1:9 he finished that if we tell him we have done wrong then he will forgives us.

Remember Jesus knows you, he knows your good points and he so one's all your bad points yet he love you. He died and rose again to save you.
He is not going to let you get away from him.

Do you think I should be scared?
No, I don't think you should be scared. I do not know what it is like to struggle with OCD, or other mental illnesses. Having said that, all I can suggest is that you be aware that it is your illness that is the reason why you experience these fears. I see no legitimate reason whatsoever to be scared.

Okay, as difficult as this will be, you just HAVE to give up the fight. All you're doing is challenging irrational thoughts - don't. Just listen to yourself breathe, get mindful and simply allow the thoughts to trickle down stream. Watch them pass, fine - but don't judge them. See them as inanimate objects.

Don't try to control everything, and don't try to rationalise everything either; just rest your mind - and perhaps pray using a different frequency (i.e. just sit and be, and give God the authority to come in and tidy up your mind for you. YOU don't do anything.)

God has full authority over everything, ALL of the time. Nothing can operate without his say so. If you don't want something, take it to Him and leave it in His capable hands. DON'T attempt to fix it alone with your rationale.

Hi, hope you're doing okay!

Know that you do not have to worry. There is absolutely ZERO reason to be scared about this. All who believe will be saved. If you have already trusted in Christ as your savior, then you have already passed from death to life. "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life." John 5:24.

How long is eternal life? Eternal.

If you have already believed in Jesus, then you were already born again. You cannot be "unborn" again. You were sealed with the Holy Spirit.

"And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory." Ephesians 1:13-14

I understand that it really confused when you have Ocd. You just don’t know either it come from ocd or not. I suffer with ocd and I understand you. I just want to tell you that you are not alone. Trust in god, he will forgive you.
