• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Just remember that even though it feels like there is no one there with you right now, you can always count on the Lord Jesus to remain faithful to His promise of to always be right by your side.

I hate this disorder, I have suffered since I can remember with it, but know that the Lord will help you in your suffering, He helps me when it gets to be more than I can take, so praise Him in the midst of your suffering and He will give you peace, He loves you today and He will love you tomorrow, trust in that love. God bless.

Ok dear, Im 15 and struggle with OCD. It gets super bad sometimes. When you get to a action thing you must do, what helps me sometimes is to picture myself doing it in my head. Then knowing what I know about my surroundings my mind plays out the relief of it which helps, but also the reactions to it and that sometimes helps with bringing the need down sometimes. This response is sort of a mix with Tourette Syndrome , which I also have, along with ADHD as well. So Im not sure if it will help you because sometimes my OCD and Tourette's mixes in together, which is just horrible, and sometimes I can't tell the difference for me between them but they play off of each other. So I hope I helped some:) Good luck and feel free to PM me anytime:)

I have struggled with OCD for the past 22 years of my life and have the tourettes too. I know EXACTLY how you feel. Sometimes I just want to blurt things out and I literally have to bite my tongue so I don't say them. I have ocd so bad that I mentally say phrases and repeat prayers over and over and over again in my head. I just wish this will sometime end =/ but thank you for the advice.

I do that too sometimes, the prayer part. Im glad Im not the only one. Oh me too with the blurting. In fact, today in my first class I randomly felt the urge to blurt something out and it was strange because it's never been bad to that point at school. I've heard of cases where the disorders practically disappear or get to its minimal. So I would love for that to happen to everyone! No problem. Love to help:)
