• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I always thought I was dead. I realized last night that I no longer worry about that but whether or not I'll ever be happy. I am unsure whether this falls in the catagory as OCD but I know that I have been dealing with unhappiness and trying to find things to make me happy then trying to prove that I'm dead. Very stange.

Hi Dabro, I understand completely about the phenomenon of one ocd becoming another.Perhaps it shows God will deliver us from any obsession.....Even if another one pops up. I too have had the obsession that i thought i was dead. .....and yes it did freak me out. ....but just like life, no ocd seems to stay the same. I had a "good" clip after the death obsession....i became convinced my 92 year old neighbor had put sugar in my gas tank! This one never seemed to end! What a strange month that was....nobody could tell me any different. Anyways, it sounds to me like God is working in your life....showing you can be healed from any obsession, and making you stronger to combat anything else thrown your way.god bless, friend. billyblueeyes

It definitely sounds like your OCD has changed over into something else. I cant tell you how many times my OCD has changed from one obsession to another, im pretty sure its in the hundreds lol. You just have to write it all off as OCD. It seems to me that you may think too hard into your obsessions which makes you get them mixed up with reality which all in all will make you obsess more. Praying for you :)

Ya I'm in total confusion. I don't worry about Judgment anymore. I just try to analyze whats causing my anxiety. It has changed but to what?. Oh well I guess I'll just have to go thru the anxiety.

Yup dabro, i HEAR ya; and on top of all the terror and anxiety, my doctor is discontinuing my klonopin. I suppose he's making the right call because i cannot control my intake of any drug, including benzos. So yes....i understand what it feels like to have to simply walk through the fear on faith alone.....and hope that you dont flip out in the local strip mall! god bless, friend. billyblueeyes
