I'm of course disappointed by the results, but I'm more concerned now with whats going to happen with Florida and Michigan. Hill is trying to basically steal the nomination by getting those disqualified primaries that nobody campaigned in (Obama wasn't even on the Michigan ballot!) to suddenly count since she won both states.

results were pretty much what I expected- Obama wins Texas (this is still a delegate race, people) and Vermont, cuts her Ohio firewall in half, and lost Rhode Island.

All in all, her "big day" let her cut into Obama's delegate lead- by a whopping 4 delegates. Obama will be able to erase the effects of yesterday in Missippi next Tuesday, if not fully in Wyoming before. She had to win big yesterday, and she failed.

Exactly. Clinton had to demolish Obama's lead with sweeping, strong victories in Ohio and Texas. She didn't even win Texas. Obama did exactly what he needed to do (maintain his lead) and then some. Clinton is, at this point, the Mike Huckabee of the Democratic nomination race. It is next to impossible for her to pull off anything resembling a victory at this point.

I'm going to call it right now. Barack Obama will be the Democratic Nominee for the 2008 Presidential Election.

I'm concerned that Hilderbeast will push for Florida and Michigan voters to be counted. Those are two big states and it would disenfranchise alot of dem voters if they threw them out. I believe there will probably be a do over at some point before the convention and I believe Hillary will benefit from it more than Obama since she has already campaigned there before. Can you guys imagine the chaos that is going to happen if Billary steals this thing with the super delegates?

Not going to happen. At this point the democratic leadership is fully behind the pledged delegates having their say. And today DNC Chairman Howard Dean released a statement saying that the party would not be changing the rules for seating. The two states (Florida and Michigan) can either hold officially-sanctioned primary contests sometime between now and the convention, or submit an appeal through official channels to the DNC and cross their fingers.

I'm actually kinda glad he hasn't totally killed off Hillary yet... that means he can come and campaign here.

agreed. as long as it doesn't get TOO negative, this is good for the party, or at least for a candidate like Obama who's planning on implementing a 50 state strategy to run up the popular vote, help downticket Dems even in "red" states, and maybe win a few unexpected states- all while firing up all the Democrats across the country and making them all feel like they matter- in addition to the independents and crossover Republicans who's state haven't seen a Democrat run for President in their state in a generation.

I think Gov. Bill Richardson would be the perfect candidate.

I agree, more and more each day. Richardson has the executive and foreign policy cojones that Obama is seen as lacking, and helps shore up the Latino vote against McCain (who his own party views as supporting "amnesty")

Because the state changed the primary date without consent of the DNC.

I think she was commenting on the hypocrisy of Clinton, not asking about the facts of the situation.

It IS pretty sad- she agreed to the DNC rules same as everyone else, but now thinks she can change her mind just because she's losing
