  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

This is the typical 'groupie' response one gets from his supporters. Most know nothing about his specifics nor do they care. Just that Oprah is hyping him is enough for them. Scarry.
It's always scary when people vote by playing "follow the leader". When did we see that happen last? Oh, I remember, something about Bush ... LOL.

First, you misspelled "scary."

Second, you may not agree with what the young man was saying, but if you listen to the video you'll hear that he has clearly thought through his reasons for supporting Obama. He's not some Oprah dittohead and he's not just steering the interview back toward canned talking points. I think he deserves a lot of credit for being an informed voter--and I'd say that even if his conclusions were different from mine. Just because we don't all agree with one another doesn't mean we can't recognize a thoughtful perspective when we hear it.

Agreed. It's refreshing to see people who seem to vote based on what the candidates stand for and who are actually informed. Not like the masses who base their vote on whether or not someone has a D or R next to their name; on in the case of Dems voting based solely on race or color. Just as you say, we don't have to agree to come to the same conclusions about a candidate, but it makes america stronger having an informed electorate.
