  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Death of Key West man linked to Obama's reelection - Florida Keys - MiamiHerald.com

Death of Key West man linked to Obama's reelection

A Key West man who told his partner that "if Barack gets re-elected, I'm not going to be around" was found dead on Nov. 8, with the words "F--- Obama!" scrawled on his will and two empty prescription bottles nearby.

Henry Hamilton, 64, owner of Tropical Tan off Duval Street, was "very upset about the election results," his partner Michael Cossey told Police Officer Anna Dykes.

Cossey told police Hamilton "has been very stressed about his business," and the last time they had spoken was "when we watched the election results" on Nov. 6.

President Obama, a Democrat, defeated Republican challenger Mitt Romney to win a second four-year term.

See what you liberals did?!? It's not enough that you want to make people secede from the Union. You made this poor businessman develop a mental illness and take his own life. Shame on you.

Geez. Scary stuff. Almost as scary as this:

GILBERT, Ariz. (CNN/KNXV) - Police said an Arizona woman furious about President Obama's re-election, took it out on her husband and put him in the hospital.
It all began over an argument about what the man didn't do on Election Day.

"This woman just ran down her boyfriend or husband in the parking lot here in Gilbert. We saw it," said the 911 caller. "He needs help."

A frantic witness called 911 after police said Holly Solomon used her car to run over her husband when she got mad at him for not voting.

"He got out of the car, and she was screaming at him," said the caller. "And he started walking away, and she started driving in circles around him. And she wouldn't let him go. So finally, he took off to try and get away, and she ran into him."

According to the police report, the husband told police his wife "just hates Obama, and she found out he won."

She also found out her husband did not vote in the presidential election, which is what reportedly set her off because she blamed the president for problems her family was going through.

"I just think it's completely silly that a marriage can get broken up by something political," said neighbor Ted Sowards. "Families should be able to stay stronger than what's going on in the government right now."

Solomon faces assault with a deadly weapon charges, while her husband is recovering in the hospital with serious internal injuries.

"Hitting your husband with a car, your spouse with a car -- total overreaction over not voting," said Sowards.

Police said there were no indications that the wife was impaired by alcohol or drugs during the incident.

FYI, this thread is meant to cause some uncomfortable feelings. I hope it did. It is absolutely insane that so many people blame everything on the man. ODS is a mental disorder.

Sorry, no. You do NOT get to claim the moral high ground after making a thread essentially mocking other posters with it. Once again, it seems you guys have short memories.

There's also the man who killed himself and his family after the election...

It's either ignorance over the policies a man has and hysteria in making them seem worse than what they are (as it concerns the false labels of "socialism" or "communism" and other things) - or it's the simple frustration of having a man in office who happens to be black/one folks sharply disagree with that causes others to often freak out. I saw no minorities (be it Hispanics or Asian-Americans or blacks) killing themselves in suicide when Bush got elected or other conservative presidents....but it often seems to happem with other groups.

This is carrying politics too far. We need to concentrate on how we can live our lives and stop giving Washington so much power. Washington is broken - no matter what party is in charge. Power, greed and control has taken over our senses and we can do nothing about it. Concentrate on how we can help our families through all this.

How much were you concerned about this when Bush was in office?
