To make a long story short; only Rahm Emanuel had any contact with the governor having two calls before accepting the position of Chief of Staff. He also made four calls to Blag's CoS about possible candidates who took the spot. Nothing else of foul nature has been reported.

It's more than a statement. It's a statement that he conducted an investigation.

Obama and his team have a vested interest in the outcome of this investigation, which mean they're probably not going to be impartial. Which makes the results of the investigation suspect.

Obama's conflict of interest is because he or members of his team employed by him are conducting this investigation and they also have something to either gain or to lose by the result of this investigation. Which renders any result of said investigation untrustworthy.

I'm surprised you've never heard of the fox guarding the henhouse.

He did answer for himself off the top of his head, but many mistakenly took that to cover his staff as well. Rather than just answer without questioning his staff, he had Greg Craig look into it for him. This is the result of his internal inquiry.
