The annual White House Christmas cards,

rather than focusing on Christmas or faith, instead highlight things such as

the family dogs.
Here's the card:
http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/WH-Christmas-Card-2011.jpg
I'm curious how something with Christmas decorations, Christmas presents and evergreen boughs isn't considered Christmas?

And the White House Christmas tree ornaments include

figures such as Mao TseTung

and a drag queen. [1]
oh...you mean the decorations all those kids decorated and sent to the White House to decorate the gigantic Christmas tree that evidently isn't Christmasy enough?
that's the very first thing on your list. Gotta be honest if the first thing isn't all that compelling I'm not too sure this list is going to be anything more then a collection of more Christian whining about not getting their own way about everything. :sorry:
tulc(wonders which "Fruit of the Spirit" whining is?) :)

The Christmas tree in question was decorated by the community. The Obamas had no idea what was on it.

Barely started and I'm already seeing falsehoods.

I guess some folks feel they should be able to control the types of cards people send out.

Here's an interesting article about very subject of #2:
http://ncronline.org/news/politics/...e-guest-list-pope-francis-vatican-not-so-much
The pope has also welcomed gay people to the Vatican and invited a transgender man from Spain to meet with him at his private residence. He has met with advocates for LGBT Catholics and appointed a German bishop to next month’s Vatican synod who has suggested that the church bless gay couples.

Just last week, a New York priest who ministers to gay and lesbian Catholics revealed that after celebrating Mass with Francis at the pontiff’s chapel in the Vatican, he gave the pope a DVD that tells stories about LGBT Catholics and their relationship to the church.

“This is from the gays and lesbians of the United States,” the Rev. Gil Martinez, pastor at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle, told Francis, according to Martinez’s interview with The Huffington Post.

In chatting in the pope’s native Spanish about his upcoming U.S. visit, Francis told Martinez: “I would love to visit and talk to gay and lesbian people. And please tell the gays to pray for me, and I shall pray for them.”

On Wednesday at the White House, the pope may be able to deliver that message in person — if he can find them in the crowd.
tulc(suspects the only people who had a problem with this were the same people who don't think Christmas presents and ever green boughs are "Christmas enough") :sorry:

well that was not the purpose of the op, was it?

it was specifically worded. "against people of faith."

which encompasses alot.

so if you vote "yes" in the poll are you saying yes he is helping people of faith or yes he's hurting them? and if you vote "no" are you voting no he doesn't help or no he does help them?
tulc(is just wondering)

April 2011 – For the first time in American history, Obama urges passage

of a nondiscrimination

law that does not contain hiring protections for

religious groups, forcing religious organizations to hire according to federal

mandates without regard to the dictates of their own faith, thus

eliminating conscience protection in hiring. [12]
Yeah, this was a tough one. Christians being called on to have fair business practices always seems to upset conservatives and Republicans a great deal. It's almost as if they lived in the same country and stuff. :sorry:

February 2011 – Although he filled posts in the State Department, for

more than two years Obama did not fill the post of religious freedom

ambassador, an official that works against religious persecution across the

world; he filled it only after heavy pressure from the public and from

Congress. [13]

This one was interesting:
On June 15, 2010 she was nominated by president Barack Obama for the post of United States Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom in the State Department.[12] However, her nomination was put on hold in the Senate and therefore expired without a vote at the end of the 111th session of Congress on January 3, 2011.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzan_Johnson_Cook#cite_note-13[13]

She was renominated and confirmed on April 14, 2011.[14] She was sworn in and began work on May 16, 2011.[15] She is the first woman and first African-American to hold the post.[16]
found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzan_Johnson_Cook So what it looks like is the Senate didn't act (I'm as shocked as you are!), she wasn't confirmed, (because the Senate was being the huge whimpering baby that we all know and love) but then when someone started wondering why there wasn't an ambassador here and he resubmitted the same person...wow suddenly she was confirmed. Maybe Mr. Barton should have words with the Republicans, not blame President Obama for what they were responsible for. :sorry:
tulc(has to be honest here, it looks like this list consists mostly of conservative spin, Republican talking points and Christian whining)

you already said that the original citation had pages and pages of notes.

why not do your homework?

[in fact the numbers of each bullet, are not my numbers but citation numbers]

all you would have to do is find one questionable and address it.

which you won't (emph. added)

that's four do I need to post more?

Taking three of these:

August 2010 – Obama speaks with great praise of Islam and condescendingly of Christianity. [95]

Link is to a Chuck Norris opinion piece. Apparently, Obama spoke about his Christian beliefs and reading the Bible, but didn't praise Jesus enough and had the temerity to speak favourably about a Hindu and some Muslims.

How is this "against people of Faith"?

August 2010 – Obama went to great lengths to speak out on multiple occasions on behalf of building an Islamic mosque at Ground Zero, while at the same time he was silent about a Christian church being denied permission to rebuild at that location. [96]

Obama supported the rights of Muslims to have a Mosque built near the ground zero site. I don't see how that is an act "against people of Faith"?

The St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church wasn't being block, it was asking the Port Authority for twice its allocated budget for reconstruction. So the Port Authority dropped the plan to re-build it, while allowing the church to proceed on its own if it wished.

April 2010 – Christian leader Franklin Graham is disinvited from the Pentagon’s National Day of Prayer Event because of complaints from the Muslim community. [97]

This was the Army, not Obama. The Muslim community may have had something to do with this, but the main actors in this little melodrama were the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, who objected after Graham described Muslims and Islam as "evil".

I know where the blame fits it this case - and I don't think its Muslims or the MRFF.

It seems to me that this is a typical David Barton/Wallbuilders list - marginally relevant factual information, subject to "distortions, half-truths and twisted history” (as one Evangelical historian noted). The end result is hopelessly biased and completely out of touch with reality. There's a reason Barton is known as one of the worst "historians" in the US, to the point where his publisher bailed out on him.

Personally at this point, it's much ado about nothing. He has six months to go and then he can go to private live and take in millions of dollars in speaking fees.

I guess we would need to see examples of people not being able to practice their faith.

I do know that many military members for example were not allowed even to carry Bibles into their bunks, and lockers, desks...

and other places.

so that sort of qualifies.

Air Force officer was actually made to remove a personal

Bible from his own desk because it "might" appear that he was condoning

the particular religion to which he belonged. [44]

Military Members have been chastised for sharing their faith, on the breaks and lunches, or for reading a Bible on their own time, on base.

Chaplains have been defunded, and attacked because of their views of Homosexuality, and or their not allowing athiests to be speakers at christian events, or cerimonies.

so technically He is for "other faiths" but not his own?

so either He is confused, or insane.

or confused because of His insanity.

don't you think?

it's just another rap, in a long rap sheet.....building a case against liberalism in general.

and so far the only thing that is "ado about nothing"

is the criticism of these 90 some odd actions against people of faith.

if you outright disproved 9 of them objectively, thats still less than ten percent.

that means that 90% have yet to be answered

so, believing obama over chuck norris or david barton, is not begging the question?

after all.... how do you know obama, or the military groups, under the commander in chief....are not in error.

it would take significant time proving your stance on this.

without any links to sources or citations, it's just your word against theirs.

and so far I have seen only about 5 out of 92-95.....so the majority have yet to be touched on.

another example of diminishing of faith:

of a nondiscrimination

law that does not contain hiring protections for

religious groups, forcing religious organizations to hire according to federal

mandates without regard to the dictates of their own faith, thus

I source Hobby Lobby's won court case against obama care ruling and forcing abortion medication on a companies hirees, even if the company, as per the Bible does not believe in abortion (by faith).

this as opposed to the pro-faith laws and actions of republican presidents...

I cite the "faith based initiative of bush"

and the "santorum ammendment" to promote intelligend design....which I actually disagree with.

but if teachers were properly trained by Discovery institutes, then it would be okay to do so.

but neither I or the discovery institute promote public teaching of ID.

however the ammendment was pro faith.

as well as the faith based initiative by bush sr.

so can you imagine a democrat, or obama specifically passing one of those ammendments?

I hardly doubt it.

thus my point is proven, end of discussion.

Obama celebrates Christmas,
Obama hosts dinner with the Pope at the White House

1 and 2 on a list of things Obama has done "against" Christianity.

Forgive me for not bothering to read further.

The whole premise of the poorly worded poll question is wrong. Christians should not expect the POTUS, or anyone in government, to either help or hinder their faith.

Moving the goal posts huh? You said all we needed to do was find one and address it, we've found 10 (or more) and now you're saying "Well, look there's still a bunch more!" That you posted a list where people (with very little research) have shown so much wrong on it tends to call the rest of the list into question. How about you find the parts of the list that you feel are true and post those ones so everyone doesn't have to wade through the pile of lies, half truths and conservative spin in what seems to pass for Mr. Barton's "100 truths".
