  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

No, I dont think so. The edomites were Israel's enemy. They lived high in the cliffs, see verse 3.
They vanished from history after the fall of Jerusalem in 70 a.d. So this prophecy was fullfilled, yet some people say there will be a future resurgence of the edomites.
If you are looking for a verse about science, try 1 Tim.6:20-"...oppositions of science falsely so called.." The NCV uses the word knowledge, wheras the KJV uses "science".

verse 3 goes with verse 4
Obad 1:3-4
3 The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?
4 Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the LORD.
(KJV)

the old testament is full of saying like this
Jer 51:53
53 Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should fortify the height of her strength, yet from me shall spoilers come unto her, saith the LORD.
(KJV)

especialy of lucifer
Isa 14:12-15
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
(KJV)

You will find that God hates pride very much. He will "always" humble the proud. There will come a time that everyone will kneel and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
