• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Of course I am. I am the Light Maker. I make light of everything. Even gunning down liberal professors at Dartmouth College. I even have the Christianity Police chasing me around the forums doing a card check on me wherever I go.

Thou art not! Thou shalt take the Lightworker's name as thy mantra, and thou shalt preacheth change!

The funny thing about it is that you're being sarcastic but you sound the same as when you're being serious. Practice makes perfect I guess.

Behold, he favoreth the oceans with his countenance and lo they recedeth. So uttereth Obama when he doth deign to grace us with his countenance. And woe to him who hath not seen the light, for behold, in the Age of Obama, Obama came among us. And when he came amongst us, he did cast his light upon us. And when people behold his light, they became enlightened and cried, "Woe be unto those who hath not seen the light of Barack, for in seeing the light of Barack, we will vote for Barack."

As a Christian, and being on a Christian forum, I don't appreciate this blasphemy.

It would be blasphemy if Panzer believed that O was the Messiah. He most certainly does not. But there are some supporters of O who verge on that. He is illustrating absurdity by being absurd.

Relax. You will live longer.

(I'm pillorying things that people said about Obama and that Obama himself has said.)

"And lo, behold the Age of Obama dawned, for in the years before Obama the sickly and ill suffered in the street, but forsooth, in yon age after Obama behold he sent his servants forth, and lo, they healed the sickly and ill. And lo, people called him the Alpha and the Omega. And there was dancing and song, and people sang, "Obama be thy name. Thy change will come."

Anybody able to verify the veracity of this quote from a mainstream source?

a light will shine through that window, a beam of light will come down upon you, you will experience an epiphany ... and you will suddenly realize that you must go to the polls and vote for Obama" - Barack Obama Lebanon, New Hampshire.

Sure.

But I also learned that being an organizer is hard work, that, you know, you put in long hours, you're underpaid, you're sleep- deprived, you have to deal with rejection. And so now as I travel across New Hampshire and all across the country, and I see these young people who are doing such extraordinary work on this campaign, pouring their heart and soul into it, I always want to make sure that they are acknowledged when I visit.

And so your Lebanon organizer for the Obama campaign is Big Dave Ormbrendt (ph).

Where's Dave?

Big Dave, come on up here. Stay right here. Here's Big Dave. He is doing a great job.

They love you, Big Dave. They love you.

He is doing a great job.

Now, in the last day here, Dave only has one thing on his mind. He wakes up with this thought, he goes to sleep with this thought, he eats and lives and breathes and dreams about getting you to the polls tomorrow. That's all he is thinking about.

More specifically, getting you to the polls to vote for me. That's what he's thinking about.

(APPLAUSE)

That's his job, get you to the polls, vote for Obama. My job is to help him do his job. So I am going to try to be so persuasive in the 20 minutes or so that I speak that by the time this is over, a light will shine down from somewhere.

It will light upon you. You will experience an epiphany. And you will say to yourself, I have to vote for Barack. I have to do it.

And if you make that decision, if that moment happens, then it would be great -- even though it's just one day to go -- for you to fill out one of these supporter cards before you leave, because that way we'll know, you know, who, in fact, is going to be voting. Make sure that you are getting to the right precinct. It will be very heful to Dave in doing his job.

So let me just see a quick show of hands. How many people, be honest, are still undecided about who they're going to vote for tomorrow? Raise your hands.

Oh, see. Got some live ones right there. There's one, there's one over there. A couple others.

All right. We have you now in our sights. We are coming after you, and coming after you hard.

And hopefully if I make a persuasive case, then you will make sure to let Dave know by filling out one of those cards. But you know what? If you're not voting for me, vote for somebody.

What an extraordinary privilege the people of New Hampshire have. You, along with the people of Iowa, will have more to do with selecting the next president than just about anybody else on the planet. And that is remarkable. And it's a responsibility I know you've taken seriously. That's why you're here today.

But we've got to follow through and finish up. Please give Dave a big round of applause.
Ever told a joke before?

When he says it, it doesn't sound like he's joking.

Either he's serious or he can't tell a joke.

By George! Do I smell a hint of desperation?

I wonder if this has anything to do with why his numbers may be falling. Watch this video:

http://rightwingvideo.com/?p=837

I had to see it to believe it myself.....

We're now comparing a small and informal speech in a tent in Anbar Province to a large, formal setting with a full band, curtains, many more officers. The setting itself defines the tone of the reaction - light applause was in order, not loud cheering.

C'mon now you guys... you're scavenging for table scrags and calling it lobster.

And how are the Republicans doing in the polls?

"An NBC/Wall Street Journal poll this past week put Republican popularity at near historic lows. Just 26 percent in the survey viewed the party positively, compared with 68 percent for President Barack Obama, despite the economic crisis and sharp GOP criticism of his $3.8 trillion budget plan..." (Story dated 03/08/09)

Republicans trailed by more than a 30-point margin on the question of which party is best positioned to end the recession..." (emphasis mine)

That is only with judicial poll cherry picking. One could easily take the vast majority of the polls and make the statement the OP and the article is in fact in error. But then again that would be akin to making the announcement that 12 pm is still noon.

...never mind the wide disparage of non national and world events that Bush faced in 2001...The only thing he really had to deal with was, oh yeah, how to socialize taxation (per the conservative definition), Versus Obama who has to deal with the mess the president, who already per Presidential historians in the top ten of worse presidents, left Obama to deal with.

Relax. You will live longer.

No, it's blasphemy to use the title "Messiah", which belongs to Christ alone, constantly as a vehicle for one's political views. It is most certainly blasphemous. Replace "Messiah" with "Christ" and it becomes very evident how blasphemous it is. Of course, none of the neo-cons do that because they know it will expose their blasphemy to those who are still too blind and ignorant to see it.

And I am relaxed. Do you think it is necessary to get uptight to express when something is offensive and blasphemous, or to point out the truth that it is when someone denies that it is? If so, well, sorry, you're wrong. You're just making presumptions.
