I have an Idea for a boy, I think Noah's ark would be a great nursery theme but for a girl I'm clueless!

I don't wanna have some thing unisex like ducks/frogs/bears/pooh bear, even though thats kind of cute and I don't want a Barbie/Disney princess/Dora theme (I see Dora so much I can't even stand looking at the doll any more lol).

Maybe stripes? but again I want some thing cute and creative (like Noah's ark). maybe a very pink girly bunny rabbit theme ( or ) ?

Please help I know I have a while but I would like to have things planned out as early as possible mostly since I have a feeling I'm having a girl lol

Emily's room was very girly. Her bedding was pastel colors and it had flowers and butterflies on it. I got it from Wal*Mart actually, so it didn't cost much. I came so close to getting her a Care Bears one tho simply because I loved the show as a child^_^ Her toddler bed and bedding set now is Dora because that's what she likes.

When I was first looking for bedding for Emily's crib before she was even born, I looked at http://www.babiesrus.com they had some absolutely beautiful bedding for little girls (and boys)..some of it was just a bit more than I was willing to pay for tho.

When I have a girl (notice the when not if)... Her room is going to be pink and white and chocolate.

If I have twins (A boy and a girl) then I already have their bedding picked out, the boys is blue and chocolate and the girls is pink and Chocolate. :)

but I think if I had a girl the pinker the better! :)

For a little boy I want animals of some sort- Noah's ark... or a zoo/safari theme.

As for a girl, I have no idea. I saw a beautiful pink and chocolate brown butterfly bedding set a long time ago but it is no longer available. So who knows...

Go with something that won't need to be changed drastically as she gets older. A color theme is a good idea. You can change accesories as they grow rather than mess with paint.

My DD is 10 and still has the same basic color scheme as when she was a toddler. The walls are bright blue with white roses stamped on. She's had about 3 different bed coverings through the years and we've also changed the curtains and rugs to freshen up and give it a different look.

Ok, here is my dilemma.
We moved into our house about 2 years ago. The previous owners had a baby boy, and left the paint and border... I love it, but now I am afraid it is too boyish... wonder if we have a girl? I'd like to use the nursery for each baby, as we have other bedrooms downstairs as each new baby is born...
I have attached a picture from our house hunting days... now the room has our stuff in it- nothing baby- just the animal border and paint...
Thoughts?

We went with a unisex theme with our first since we didn't know the gender and chose stars, moons, and clouds. I really liked the look; it was calm and serene and pretty easy to find those kinds of items everywhere.

I'm not a fan of pink at all, but I do like the pink/brown combination idea. Makes it not so girlie IMO.

FaithLoveHope9, it doesn't look too boyish at all, you can see there are some really nice colors for a girl too.

Thank you all for the ideas, I think I'm gonna go with pastel colors, mostly pink, white and green...still not sure but lots of pink thats for sure :)

I chose Noah's Ark even though I knew we were having a girl. I'm glad I did cos it was suitable for our son who then followed and will be suitable for our next baby. I don't think it was too boyish or too girlish.

I'm hoping I'll end up with one boy and two girls...named Warren, Faline (Faye), and Delilah (Lily)...so this is the plan if I get what I'm hoping for:

Warren: The woods
Faye: Rabbits
Lily: Flowers

I won't be having children for a while, but I like to plan ahead:p

I like the first one you listed I think it was Gabriela. I have the opposite for colors I have that green on the wall & if I have a girl the things I get will be pink like that one. If a boy I will go white/yellow. I don't like overloaded themed rooms.

This is a pic of a girl I know that I absolutely adore her nursery!

I'm not big on the whole nursery idea. Sure it's great when they are babies, but when they grow up...... As they do and FAST!!!.

We have never owned our home but if we did, I would go as unisex as possible with the colours on the walls and curtains. You can always go "girl" or "boy" in things like bedding, rugs on the floor, pictures on the wall, etc. etc. etc.

Also I honestly don't understand what's wrong with Noah's Ark for a girl.
