The sky I saw as a child didn’t mirror that image and I don’t believe it’s a hoax. Here’s a map of the states involved.

Some Texans would have to drive an awful long way to an airport.

I suppose that TX could outlaw its citizens from crossing state lines for the purpose of air travel, like they do for..... that other thing.

The sky I am seeing right now doesn't mirror that image and I don’t believe it’s a hoax. The image is not a hoax; the hoax is that the image is of "chemtrails" rather than "contrails", i.e. condensation from plane exhaust.

Then you must not have lived near any flight paths. I grew up a few miles from an active AF base and saw contrails all the time. The notion that they didn't exist prior to a couple decades ago is ludicrous.

I’ve always lived in close proximity to water which is probably why I don’t see many planes at this location. You’d hear one every now and then. But I can’t recall the last time I have. The only time we see them now is the air and water show.

Hmmm...odd they mentioned Florida and Tennessee by name and didn't mention Minnesota.

There's no political motivation behind that at all, I'm sure. (sort of like when they'll bash southern states for having a propensity for medical pseudoscience, but neglect to mention that Cali, Oregon, and Washington state actually subsidize and license acupuncture and "naturopathic doctors" (aka: not real doctors)

But that aside, to the matter at hand...

If you look at most of the states, they're not actually targeting "chemtrails", they're preventative bills aimed at stopping certain types of air pollution and weather modification in the future.

In April 2024, Tennessee lawmakers passed a bill banning the release of chemicals into the air, however, the bill did not explicitly mention chemtrails.

There are other bills under consideration in Kentucky, where a bill seeks to ban "any form of future geoengineering activities" including polluting the atmosphere and Minnesota where a House bill introduced in March aims to ban weather-modifying substances.

In Rhode Island, a Senate bill would ban certain weather engineering activities and in New Hampshire a bill proposes banning the release of polluting emissions.

In South Dakota, a Senate bill would ban certain polluting emissions

In Texas, state Representative Wesley Virdell introduced an anti-chemtrail bill. (a freshmen statehouse rep introduced a bill that hasn't even made it out of committee)

So basically, this whole Guardian story was just a way to take a cheap shot at republicans based on one bill proposal from a random newbie in Texas, and then lumped in a bunch of other states with it that didn't even mention "chemtrails" in their bill by implying that it's dog-whistle politics.

Interestingly enough, you know who else has proposed measures to prevent the future use of geoengineering?
The United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity

When is this writer for the Guardian going to lay the smackdown on those conspiracy theorists over at the UN?

For what its worth i remember 30 years ago when the sun was yellow.

Its white now ...

Not because or aluminum in the chemtrails but because there is so much less smog in the air
