  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Not so much. I know I'm very sensitive to sunburning, but I only get a sunburn when I don't have my shirt on. Another thing to note might be that many females have uneven tans, due to their bathing suits having been in the way of radiation. Clothes certaintly help protect against radiation, but I have no clue what the SPF would be.
There are different types of solar radiation. The ones that cause sunburn are not actually the most dangerous.

I would have no problem with women going topless in public anyplace that a man is permitted to go topless. Frankly I think we would have a healthier society if this was allowed.

I would not support total nudity becasue of the health aspects. If not for that, I would certainly consider it.

that's why all guys have no problem with women going topless :p haha

just remember while you have those nice 20somethings going topless, you'd also have the 80somethings ;)

Transientlife, I am hurt that you would think that about me... ;)

I'm not saying that I wouldn't look at first, at least at the 20 somethings, but my experience is that it doesn't take long before they [mostly] all start looking the same. My past experience is that the people who see it all the time don't pay much attention. I think the Bellman said something similiar about Australian beaches.

To me it really just comes down to a matter of fairness. I recall reading a couple years back about a transvestite in the Pacific Northwest who had gotten D-size implants and was dancing topless along a major highway. The police came to arrest him but because he was a man they couldn't do anything. Yet if that same person had been a woman--even a woman who wore an AA cup--she would have been arrested and fined. We had a Miss North Carolina a year or two ago who was forced to resign because topless photos had been taken of her--she hadn't posed for them, a boyfriend apparently snapped them while she was changing. Yet every man on the committee that met with her when she was forced out has probably gone topless in public--so much for doing onto others as you would like to have done unto yourself!

I remain convinced that in the long run it would be haelthier for our society. I think women would have better self images, we would probably have fewer cases of diseases such as anorexia, we would see an increase in breast feeding and the oversexualization that our society has towards female breasts would be greatly decreased.

Health aspects?! No below the waist nudity because of health aspects? You use public bathrooms don't you? Since when do people take a dump without taking their clothes off their waist?

Perhaps this: Anywhere where we don't usually use more than bathing suits anyway, there should be nothing to stop someone from wearing their birthday suit. Wherever men don't wear shirts, women shouldn't have to either.

Um, I would have people force nudity on me... how does the golden rule apply?

In America when guys see a women topless-they fall into sexual sin. That is why I am against public nudity. No one needs to see you naked except for your husband/wife. In my opion- having tons of people know what you look like naked gives them to much info. about you. Like I said- I makes it harder for guys to stay sexualy pure, also it could be harder for women to stay pure as well.

Nobody's talking about forcing anything on anyone. To force nudity on someone would be to make them be nude. Nobody's suggesting such a thing. However, forcing me NOT to be nude IS forcing something on me.

As for "do unto others as you would have them do unto you"...I let people do what they like, and if I'm offended, that's MY problem. I'd have them treat me the same.

First error - seeing a woman topless does not equate to "falling into sexual sin". In societies where nudity is common, seeing someone naked has nothing to do with sex.

No-one NEEDS to see you naked except for your husband/wife. No-one NEEDS to see you at all. That doesn't mean they shouldn't see you.

Do you have ANY evidence that cultures where nudity is the norm have a lower rate of "sexual purity"?

Here's a novel idea. If you don't want to see it, don't look!

Actually studies have shown that most men find partially clothed women much sexier and much more aluring than naked women.

Further, if what you are saying is correct why do we let men go topless? In Victorian times it was forbidden for a man to be seen topless by a woman. As late as the 1930's men were being arrested on beaches in New Jersey for going topless. But time change.

If women were to start going topless tomorrow there would be a great many men out there staring at them. But in a month there would be far fewer men staring, and six months there would be fewer yet. In a couple years nobody would really notice. That's what happened in Europe.

If you are really concerned about women drawing men into sexual sin then you should support this because in the long run it will significntly reduce sexual sin.
