That was all well and good when we knew where our enemies were, and knew they were afraid to die -- I.E. the Cold War.

The threat alone of nukes doesn't carry the same weight in the War on Terror, fought against religious fantics.

I've already head talk of pushing development for nuclear "Bunker-Buster" missles. Big nukes are a deterrent; smaller ones are meant to be used.

Generalization and misconception. Not all Muslims want to kill "infidels", and you will not make them vanish by bombing Mecca. You will however greatly anger them.
