  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The dichotomy that many accept is false. There should be no dividing page between the Hebrew and the Greek writings in your Bible.

The God of Israel gave the Torah. Then he sent prophets, exhorting his people to keep the Torah. Finally, he sent Yeshua, the heir to the dynastic throne of David to instruct his people on proper Torah observance.

Now, we await Yeshua's return, when he will set up the nation of Israel as the capital of the planetary empire--the Kingdom of God.

Except for the 400-year gap between them, and the new economy of the NT regarding sacrifices, feasts, foods, defilement, the Tabernacle, etc.

The New Testament is the Old revealed, whereas the Old Testament is the New Concealed. To answer your question, if following what Christ and others in the early church were about, everything ranging from the epistles for instruction to the exmaple of Christ (who often referenced the Psalms and the Tanak ) - and the example of Yeshua/his words being what guide.

I said nothing against any person.

The point to the question is to indicate that I see no conflicts needing resolution. We identify things that we think of as conflicts primarily for one of two reasons:

1. We lack necessary context to understand what we are reading. This context is usually either historical or literary.

2. We are trying to make a text fit into a theological posture we have learned, but which is false.

As Visionary said, the problem is not with the Book, but with us. If we think we have identified a conflict between two passages, then we have misunderstood one of the two... or possibly both. All inspired Scripture will be self-consistent when we bring appropriate definitions and context to our reading.
