Hello,
I'm new to the reformed faith. I've been hearing a lot about New Perspectives on Paul and the Federal Vision. Can someone please explain, in simple terms, what is meant by these theological perspectives?

Making a quick Google search the following short definition of NPP and Federal Vision were found.

The "New Perspective on Paul" essentially argues that the Jews of Jesus' time were boasting in their election in the visible Israel, not in any personal righteousness by which they thought earned a right standing before God. In it, "Divine forgiveness is primarily ethnic or corporate rather than personal"

Federal Vision proponents place a strong emphasis on the efficacy of the Sacraments, some embracing giving the Lord's Supper to baptized children and a view of baptism that, critics believe, makes it a “regenerating” ordinance. Additionally, these systems emphasize that final salvation has more to do with continuing membership in the covenant community than with a personal salvation experience.
