Hey, thanks! You know, you're lucky that you can get Mark of the Wolves on X-Box Live. Buying the Neo Geo cart is crazy expensive. It's coming up at $400 now... Then again, I'm stupid enough to buy Capcom vs. SNK 2 on the Dreamcast when I ALREADY own it on the PS2, just because I like it so much. Who knows what I'll buy next?As a side note, I love seeing Breetai's now playing lists. It reads as a history lesson of great games.
Did you see what's UNDER the Neo Geo? It's a front-loading Neo Geo CD system. There were only 25,000 made before they changed to the flip-top model.Oh very nice. Especially drooling over the Neo Geo and the turbo duo. And also good call on the FZ10 3DO.
Oh, I've also got my American systems: NES, SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, Playstation, Playstation 2, GBA, two DSlites. Also a Korean Halo Edition X-Box, Japanese Neo Geo Pocket and white Saturn (like I mentioned). Hopefully I'll get the Atari systems if I move back to North America (at least the 2600 and a Jaguar... hopefully a Lynx).I aspire to eventually have the same systems, plus some. I always enjoyed every system in its own right, and after owning what we did in Indianapolis, yeah, I miss it.
That sucks. Then again, I almost never play online so it's not an issue for me. If you REALLY want the best online play, move to South Korea.as for Garou on 360...it's nothing to write home about. I'd played it before, and love the game, so I was going to definitely buy it. I was hoping to get some online play on the 360 done, but...online is horrible. Their netcode is horrendous. I'm sure it's not as bad in Japan with the internet speeds there plus without the distance issues the US causes, but clearly SNK thought nothing of foreign markets, because I had 1 second delay on my inputs in nearly every match I played. So frustrated.
Mark of the Wolves is on the DC???So, it's good for offline play, and for online if I ever lived in Japan with my 360. And you're right, it's certainly cheaper than the Neo Geo cart. But I could've probably gotten the PS2 or the Dreamcast ports and been just as happy with them, if not more, since neither would promise online play.
I know next to nothing about the Guilty Gear series, other than X on the DC is pretty darm fun. In fact, it's one of the best 2D fighting games that I've ever played. Still, I don't know if I'll get into the others as I really don't have time to fully get into them. I'm more of a pick up and play for a few rounds kind of guy.4 more days till BlazBlue releases, and I'll be playing it to death. Limited Edition pack that I pre-ordered came with an art book, a 48 track soundtrack, and a DVD featuring tutorials and character specific strategies. Apparently Arc put in a lot of time with the netcode too to make it playable anywhere, so here's hoping. If that's the case, I see myself enjoying this one for a long time!
I probably won't be picking up Tekken 6 or FFXIII anytime soon. Like, for years. I don't even have MGS4 yet! No time to get into it, so why pay full price now?I might have to let you know when I want to get hold of some of these systems. Right now, there's just so many modern must-haves for me coming out that I can't afford both. But once the gaming market settles down a little (probably in between Tekken 6 and Final Fantasy 13), I will let you know. I know I would be thoroughly pleased with a Japanese Saturn.
There ya go. If I come across it for cheap I'll pick it up. Otherwise, I'm not too worried. And yeah, Garou got released on the Dreamcast. It was released in Japan in September '01, and was released to the US in November of '01 under the name Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves.
I'm not that hardcore. I have no interests in tournaments at all. I just play for casual fun!For me, it seems like the Guilty Gear series along with BlazBlue is easier to pick up for a casual gamer than say Street Fighter, especially if they have never played either series. That's assuming you're not like me, and go to a tournament, and play a casual match with one of the best in the region. Then you just wonder what the hype surrounding the game is all about.
I'm in North America enough that I do come across them every now and then. Well, the older systems at least. I'm not in a hurry.Shoot, likewise with you though, if you are looking for a Jaguar or any Atari system, let me know, and I'll see what I can find.
