No; it leaves out the most important points - and negates the need for Calvary - all we have to do is "claim" and we got it."We can do nothing of ourselves. In all our helpless unworthiness we must trust in the MERITS of the crucified and risen Savior. None will ever perish while they do this." Patriarchs & Prophets,203.
Is this the Gospel or not?
If, as YOU say all we have to do is "claim them" then why do we need the cross? To trust in the merits of a crucified and risen Saviour for our acceptance with God and to obtain His grace by which we are to be saved is to "negate the need for Calvary"???
"Present your case before God pleading the merits of the blood
shed for you upon Calvary's cross." F.W.106.
How is this negating Calvary?
You ask where the soldiers of this forum are? They are under your feet. You keep stepping on them"...may it never be for me to boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified to me, and I to the world." (Gal 6:14, MKJV)
If you are one of these "soldiers;" then you should be able to much better explain Mrs White's use of the word "merits" when she is referring to "the merits of Christ." It is a plural word she is using, and therefore, you should be able to give a complete list and description of said 'MERITS."Where are God's soldiers on this forum?
Where are they hiding when God needs
them to vindicate His truth?
And he jumps for joy when someone uses Ellen White's writings in place of scripture. They are two different things and while her writings "bear the word of God," at times, they certainly are NOT the word of God."Does satan plead loudly against our souls,
accusing us of sin, and claiming us as his
prey? The blood of Christ pleads with
greater power... You cannot save yourself
from the tempter's power, but he trembles
and flees when the merits of that precious
blood are urged." M.B.9; 5 T 317.
