• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

This came to mind late one night after reading the Scriptures.

I will agree with you on this but do parents not get sad/mad when their children stray?
Becuase one is sad or mad does not mean they love less or care more but simply a sign of love.

I can't imagine any parent loving one child more than another (I know in the world this does happen) it just does not seem a normal standard of love.

God bless!

Parents do indeed get "sad/mad" when their children stray. From the Lord's perspective, I believe that is why He "wept over Jerusalem"...

And... that is why He brings correction to His children.
He wants us to grow UP! Of course that correction is for our benefit.

Often human parental correction is based on embarassment at the child's behaviour. Not so with the Lord...

Hebrews 12:5a,6... "...'My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD. Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; For whom the LORD loves He chastens. And scourges every son whom He receives.'"
(NKJV).

Now verses 7,8 from the KJV (for emphasis)... "If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye *******s, and not sons."

Shalom.... WAB

Edit... How's that for emphasis? Guess I should have stuck with the NKJV... (automatic editing)..

Fine job brother I was thinking though you meant that the Lord never got sad/mad over our choices in life.
I agree completely with you.

God bless!

Hi Raist... Just want to let you know I appreciate the support...

Just now came to mind that it would probably be better to send you a PM (not post mortem)... Oh well... the original reason for this response is to say that whenever I come across your posts, I always scroll down your signature area. Great analogy!

Shalom... WAB

p.s. please post again so it doesn't appear that I want WAB to be the last entry in this thread... really not my intention.

This is a good truth but not always an easy one to believe when you know you have done the wrong thing.
