  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I was just wondering which software, if any, you all use for note taking or notes management. Over the years the software I've used for managing my notes has varied. I started off using Sidekick and then switched over to Lotus Organizer. After I bought a pocket PC I needed a software that I could use on my gadget and my home PC. I came across a program called PhatNotes by Phatware. It is a great program that is able to sync between Pocket PCs/Smartphones and the desktop PC. It has fantastic database management capabilities, and I thought, finally, this is the software I've been looking for. Then a year ago I stumbled across OneNote from Microsoft. I'm not trying to make a pitch for Microsoft...but this has got to be the best notes management software I've ever seen. It has every thing you could possibly want in a note management software. Software like this makes it really fun to organize the various scraps of info laying around your hard drive. There are too many functions to describe here so I've provided some links.

Notepad. :p

I do have OneNote on my phone as well as on computer, so I might check it out. It's funny because everything MS has touched in the past 2 years or so has been turning to gold and I've been very pleased with nearly all their stuff.

My only worry with something like OneNote is that it won't pick up and become obsolete causing the file format to become extinct. I have txt documents from 95 that still work because the format doesn't change.
