I will be putting this questions to my Pastor and to my Senior Pastor as well,
There has been a new family that has come to our Church in the last few months, when i met them I was on guard from the beginning. I was not comfortable around them and it was very hard for me to give them a hello hug and a good bye one, we all greet each other this way, In fact they only have to touch me and i get cold shivers run through me, I have asked God why is this going on as I am not like this with the rest of the Church or others that I meet, Any way a couple of weeks ago they come to our prayer meeting and give a Testimony on how the wife prayed for this guy who's leg was sore, sports injury I thought yep how cool and then the husband pulls out his phone and starts showing everyone the video he took, I did not watch as I thought it was a bit weird, then about a week ago the wife put up a post on Facebook with photos that she had prayed for this woman, all goods but it did not look like the woman had a clue that photos where being taken. and on sat there was a carnival i was involved in for suicide intervention and she prayed over this teenager who broke his finger and today up goes a photo, I did ask another member of my Church about this and did not really get an answer but the wife did go and tell him about it, all he said was that he does not think that there was permission from the parents for the photo to be posted. Now it is not the fact that she prays for people but what she does afterwards and I am sure that it is not right but would like some understanding as to why brag about it and post photos on social media,I am new in my walk with God, so do not understand all methods that are used, and wondering if anyone has had anything like this before or any advice. Thank you

Are you sure she is doing it to brag….? And not just to share what God is doing. I would think one would ask permission before posting them unless they knew it was ok. There is a lot of this same kind of thing already on tv, you tube….for some time. People praying over someone, and going to social media's, many churches also record services and I'm sure they record prayers and worship also. So not sure what your seeing that is new here. But we have to be sure of her motive, and of course permission should be asked before hand, this is just common courtesy.

God Bless.

This isn't my denomination so I'll leave it to the others. Sounds fishy though...
If you do have an idea i would like to understand it, if it be bad or good, I could not see just a non denominational thread, and yeah just very confused.

Thank you, I am not sure about the motive, Our Church records our worship and the word and does not do the personal prayers or the alter call, I am not the only one who thinks this is not right, did not know about stuff like this being on youtube but then nothing would surprise me. It could all be done above board and all that, I have tried to ask her and got brushed off, so looking elsewhere for answers

It's good that you are sharing this problem with your pastors,'Taznq'. Together you should be able to sort it out with this family. Difficult for others to judge motives. It needs to be sorted together. Love and respect to you

I dunno - it never occured to me that it would be "wrong" to post photos on facebook - of my students, of whoever, until someone else told me, and I still don't understand the problem, unless the person is really insecure or has something to hide, or maybe is a Christian in someplace like Syria. I usually post whatever I want and if someone has a problem with it, they can tell me, and I will take it down (though I will not want to). Just giving you a possible other point of view. I would think that the couple just want to brag on what GOD is doing.

UPDATE:

Since writing this the problem had been taken to the Pastors and the Leaders and not just me, things have been sorted and everything is ok. The photos and videos being placed up as they thought it was all good and to show others the glory of God and that.
I have since spoken to them and we have worked things out, I was being unfair and judging them because to me they were fully out there, but since I have pushed through and read Gods word more and more things have been shown to me. Yes i told them that I had judged them and also sought forgiveness from the Lord.

So thank you to all who answered.
