So I was saved when I was around 16 years old. Went to my church that taught that only through Christ can we be saved from sin. However about a year and half later I started to falter from the faith and eventually went on living for myself and my fleshly desires. I went seven years of claiming I was a homosexual and an atheist and claimed that I didn't believe in God. There were times during those seven years that I knew deep down what I was doing was wrong but kept going down that destructive path. About a few weeks ago I finally realized that this was not the way I was supposed to be living my life. I felt a crushing guilt that came over me and prayed to God that if he could ever forgive me. Since then I've been turning my life around and trying to walk in the path the lord wants me to walk. My question is though. Am I beyond redemption though?
I heard that if I denied Christ then I never really knew him. As an atheist I did that. But now seeing the error of my ways, I asked Him to forgive me as a sinner and accepted him as my lord and savior. Is me asking Him again valid though?

The unforgivable sin is to reject Jesus. You have not rejected him, so start attending church, get involved in church life and live for Jesus.
What is the difference between denying and rejecting Christ?

But I denied Him. Isn't that the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.
No. That might be "blasphemy against the Son;" which our Lord said COULD be forgiven:

Luke 12:10 And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him.

Blaspheming the Holy Spirit is KNOWINGLY telling people that the TRUE MIRACLES from God are actually from the devil.

As to your situation, there is a woman my wife and I have been working with for close to 4 years now. She had been a believer but fell away and took a "20 year vacation" from faith. She got into a lot of nasty stuff. And it has been a difficult road back; but she is now more vibrant in her faith and attitude than she ever has been.

you are NOT 'beyond redemption."

So did Peter, so . . . no.

If you had truly blasphemed the Spirit and were irredeemable, you wouldn't be worried about it.

Shalom, and welcome home. :groupray:

So it's because that I worried about committing that sin proves that I didn't?

People who worrying about blaspheming haven't done so because in their hearts they know that they believe in God and love Him. People who blaspheme God don't care that they have done so and don't worry about it. You can't accidentally blaspheme God in an irredeemable way because the Spirit knows whether or not you have truly blasphemed and given up on God. Your return to the faith proves that you haven't given up on God. You can still be forgiven and redeemed if you ask God to do so for you, and he will.

Praying for you as you continue to grow closer to God again.

Thank you brother. There was a time when I said something negative about the sacrifice He made at one point and was afraid when I wanted to come back to him.

Well more so I said he was just a man that died on the cross. I regretted saying that ever since though.

The fact that you regret it proves that you have not blasphemed against Him in your heart. God bless!

No man can come unto the Son except that the Father draws him. Jesus chose you, you didn't choose Him. All of your sins are done with and you will never ever be judged for any of them past present or future. But you need to dedicated your body to Him (Romans 12). You need to grow in the milk of the word and move onto the meat. If you don't take the milk and grow from it you will become carnal and end up coming back again to where you now are seeking God. He never stopped leading you while you were in sin. You just failed to acknowledge His ever leading of you as He does me, and He never stops.

If you don't make the act of dedication you might slip back again.

Move on kid!

I was told because I knowingly became an atheist some time after acknowledging the lord that I rejected him and now there is now hope for me to return because Christ won't die again for me
No that was a lie from the evil one.
