Not shaving as a man, real opinions?

I kept it shaved for hygiene purpose. Washing doesn't always get all the dead skin and dirt out of facial hair. I use to have acne at the roots of my facial hair. Since I practice shaving regularly the occurrences dropped drastically. Also I don't look good with facial hair since mine are not thick.

Good for you. A lot of men look silly with beards for that exact reason. At some point they became trendy and you see all kinds of horrors on men's faces these days.

I can't really grow a full beard, but I can grow a Johnny Depp type beard (if you can even call it that) and that's what I usually have. I'm happy with it. It looks nice enough on me and I only have to trim it once every couple of weeks.

My dad grew a beard for the first time that I know of during COVID. He later got rid of it.

I decided to get a hair cut and shave. The one thing about masks was I could not shave and not look stupid. I'd let it go for days. Did anyone let things go? I had to make appointments for freakin' hair cuts.

I grew a couple of beards a long time ago, but I found they seemed to collect dust (Rip Van Winkle).

My sinuses and nasal passages always felt stuffy, as I've got a mild allergy to dust and mould. So I shaved them off again.

I could grow a beard in a week, but a head full of hair on top is a lost cause. Now if anyone knows how to fix that, I'm all ears!

I used to hate having any kind of beard. Since COVID I think, I don't care.
I've had one now for getting close to 50 years. About 30 years ago I cut it off, and that lasted a month. It takes a little bit of work but is really almost no problem. It needs a little trimming so as not to be a soup strainer. It is funny that in very cold weather it becomes an ice beard as it catches and condenses and freezes the water vapor I breathe out.

It protects part of my face from extreme cold in winter and from extreme sun in summer.

My grandchildren were polled recently about my beard and they want me to keep it

No opinion, unless it's gross.

I knew a guy who had a very large mustache because partially burned his face so he covered it.
I really could not look at him because of everything getting caught in it, I wanted to gag.
He tried doing the handle bars mustache.

Beards?
Small and trim. Anything else is just unruly and gross.
Depp beard above, ok.
Long unruly - ewww.

If you decide to grow a beard, you have to get through the bum-stage.

This is when your beard is just starting, and you look more like a bum than
anything else.

My wife hated this stage and after I shaved my beard off, she refuses to let
me go through this stage again. :D
