Not getting any help!

I am desperate......

I told my doctor and my psychologist over # weeks ago about my ed and all my doctor says is "this is difficult" cuz she doesnt know what to do

and my psychologist just doesnt seem to be taking me seriously at all like she thinks I just want attention or something

its getting me down so much. I'm so scared about what I am doing to myself I am scared that i'm doing my body serious damage

Has anybody else had this problem???

I'm sorry you have this problem, i sort of know what its like, coz i told my psych. about my ed and he was convinced it was a psychosis, so he put me on anti-psychoic meds which did nothing for my ed, coz i was not psychotic!! im not on them any more coz another psych. took me off them, but now i am still struggling with my ed and it is worse then before!!! i dont think doctors are always right! i hope you will find the help you need and deserve!!

Are you able to get a second opinion, hun? If you're not comfortable with the diagnosis then try and talk to someone else who can help.

One of the biggest misconceptions about EDs is that it's for attention. I can speak for myself in that it was the very last thing I wanted. I just wanted to be left alone so I could do things the way I wanted.

looks like it's time to seek out a new psych, one who specializes in EDs. This made all the difference in the world for me. Best of luck.
