CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

well...i have been seeing them for 15 years and they are not afefcting me...so i think i wun really spend my parents money on my eyes check...I would agree with Cameron that you should get your eyes checked out. It sounds like your eyes to me.
Sometimes I see black flecks in my field of vision and I can see them both with my eyes open or shut. This is actually a vision problem and sounds similar to what you describe.

Guess what?? You are now the third person on this forum (who i know of) who can see these 'auras' or whatever they are. I see EXACTLY what you see... i can also turn it off at will, besides the occasional explosion aura, or the 'seeing everyones aura at once'.
I can say that God has blessed you greatly! I know that sometimes it is annoying, but it has a reason. Like you, I have had this from a very young age....only noticing that it wasn't 'normal' recently. People might tell you there is something wrong with your eyes, but there isn't. I personally have gotten my eyes checked, and they were fine.
Anyway, it wouldn't explain the static warm feeling when you touch the 'aura'. (I tryed that recently when I saw my own aura)
God has blessed me with this, so I can discern spirits. I have seen colors on a few occasions, but nearly all times I see white. Since I found out that this was not the usual thing to see, I have prayed to God to tell me what the use of this gift is. I now have noticed that whenever someone is sad, their 'aura' seems to be small, or nearly gone, and I sometimes even feel what the person is feeling. I also remember this one time, when I was praying with a friend of mine, her aura exploded. I stared at her with my mouth open.... it seemed as if she was on fire. I saw some faint colors.... purple and green mixed in with other colors.. I have seen her aura explode many occasions when talking about God. I also rember this little 2 (?) year old girl in the bus... as she was jumping about, I saw her aura.... she also looked as if she was on fire. Just as I saw her aura, I was thinking about how these children were meant for the Kingdom of God.
Don't switch them off, I did that at first, cos I kept on seeing them everywhere. God has given you this gift for a reason, let Him lead you to discover what His will is for you.

Even as an "old lady" I'm still trying to figure out what they mean. I think I'm getting a late start because I was saved at the age of 15, and was basically told every spiritual thing I had encountered up till then was demonic....so I had extra reason to try and "shut it down."
The "explosions" would come at various times throughout my life (good term...I like that) and I figured it had to mean something, I just didn't know what. I didn't try to pursue it either. Since my deconversion, I am revisiting some of my childhood experiences, mostly rethinking it all and trying to put it in a neat little definition somewhere other than "it's demonic." The aura thing resurfaced when I noticed my Spanish Professor's everytime I was in his class. It popped out one day and now is there everytime he's teaching our class.
Anyway, I appreciate your sharing. Why do you think we see these and what do you think they are for? What is the purpose (in you opinion)?

Classic Siberian Shamanism, and various Shamanistic disciplines arounf the world, teach that the soul and body are integrated in the healthy person, but may become separated in a person suffering from illness or trauma or distress. That being said, I will give another angle on this whole thing. Once, while sitting in church as a child, I was watching the Pastor as he preached his sermon. He was standing in the middle of the alter area, away from his podium. I was half-heartedly watching his aura and not really listening to him, but more to the cadance of his voice. Anyway, he moved over to his podium, but the aura stayed behind....in the perfect form of a man. I sat straight up in my pew seat and stared incredulously. The form (aura) then walked over and met back up with the Pastor again. My jaw literally hung open and I looked at my mom and aunt because I was fully expecting a reaction from them as well. They were calmly listening to the Pastor. I looked around for other reactions from the congregation and saw nothing. I stared again at the aura, hardly believing what I saw.
This is the only time ever that an aura has shown itself to have a seperate "personality." Every other time over the years, it always appears to be part of the person.
This concept seems to correspond well to what you report seeing.

Hi Liberty! I hope you don't mind me answering this question.
I am personally not much of a "seer", but am a great "feeler". My ability to sense things about another person has greatly interfered with my social interaction with others, to the point where I cannot for the life of me recognize another person's face... which really isn't a good thing.
I can ususally tell exactly what is going on spiritually in another person's life though. Not instantaniously when meeting them though. It helps if they say a few things first, whatever the topic. Needless to say this is quite distracting during the beginning of a conversation, and I usually spend the rest of it trying to catch up socialy and not look so much like an idiot!
Why are these auras and things we sense there, and what is their purpose?
-- They just are. What is the purpose of the rocks and the trees? The fact is that they are there, and the only reason to ask such a question is because so many people are unaware of their existance.
Some of us are blessed (or mabey cursed!) with the ability to perceive them. We have to figure out what to do with this knowlage. Many have learned to "turn it off", and I admitt that sometimes that is a tempting solution when you want to be "normal."
The biggest question I've found relevant is: What do we do with this information we perceive, and how do we incorperate it into our lives??

Every living thing has an aura. What does not have an aura is dead. Seeing auras is a SKILL, which every human can achieve, but I guess if I start explaining how, I would be promoting my religion, so I won't do it.
You need to work your ability of seeing auras. White auras are normal to be seen, colors will appear later, when you really get tuned in.
I will suggest meditation, which kind, I would have to promote my religion.
This is a spiritual thing, a thing that christianity IMO is slowing down a lot.
IMO spirituality does not come from Yhwh/Jehova.
I think I have the right to say that although the rules very nicely forbid me of saying a lot, but hey your forum, your rules, I'm not complaining. I know how to behave...

LOL Liberty, I didn't say that I knew the answer!!
Christianity has no guidelines for this that I've found. I imagine christian guidelines could be applied in some form or another, but somebody would have to work out the details.
In America, anytime someone mentions psychic abilities we think the only application or use for them is as a professional Psychic, doing tarot cards, palm reading, spoon bending, crime solving, or connecting with the dead. Surely there are many more practical uses than just showing off in front of crowds, though.
I imagine there are some who use them in their professional lives. Precognition could be very useful on Wall Street. Knowing someone is ready to buy is the job of a salesman, and I bet you could train yourself to see that in a person's aura. Knowing when someone is bluffing is invaluable to polititians and police officers.
Establishing moral guidelines to dictate right and wrong in this field, and at what point you are invading a person's privacy -- well...
Personally I plan on praying and asking God for these answers as the questions arise, but I suppose a person could also shop around and see what answers other religions have come up with. "An it harm none, do what you will" sounds pretty usable to me in this case. You just have to consider each thing you do with these abilities and determine whether it hurts someone else or not.

You know, I must retract this advice I gave yesterday. Sure, mabey it was the best I could come up with then, but I tried praying and thinking about it quite a bit yesterday evening and got some new answers.
God has taken some time lately to teach me tolerance. However my foundations in my spiritual walk are all dirived from my relationship with Him which are basicaly Christian in some form or another.
I have never tried to live by the Wiccan Rede. So quite frankly I don't personally know if it works, or how to apply it to any situation. I do my best to avoid giving any "christian" advice that I haven't tested and proven useful, so I must do the same with any advice.
I do recall now that I have had to apply some Christian principles to the psychic ability thing. When I have attempted to develop my abilities for selfish reasons, I feel like God is opposing me. He wants my dependancy to be on Him and His ability to teach and protect me, and shows me stuff on His timeline.
And He has opened my eyes quite a bit in this area. Or should I say ears? He is the one who has talked to me in a Heavenly "thought" language and taught me how to understand the many layers of communication used in one "sentence."
He then let me chat with the angels around my house, and since expanded this to communicating with others who are on the other side. I don't claim to have this ability from my own search and development, nor do I ever recall hearing voices growing up. It all seems to be developed from my relationship with God.
Waiting on God is crucial in so many areas of our lives. As a member of the "Kingdom of Heaven" that Jesus preached, I have learned to submitt many areas of my life to the direction of the King. This includes my job, major purchases, and of course who I married and how many children we have. By letting these descisions be co-ordinaded by the Benevolent Mastermind of everything, He leads me to the places I need to be and people I need to be around to learn the life's lessons at their appropriate time.
And the rest is great too! "When God gives riches, there is no trouble added with them." That is a true proverb. Ever buy something you wanted and it was more of a pain than a blessing? That doesn't happen when I follow God's leading. He sends me to the best deals! ...and my wife is the best too...
but I feel like I'm bragging so I'll just shut up now...
Oh yeah, this was all about submitting my psychic abilities to God just like any other ability I have. There have been times where I have been fustrated with how slow God is to getting around to developing an area of my life that I feel is important. But I've realized that without Him I can't become what I was designed to be, and that taking my development into my own hands in any area will shut down God's work (mabey not all of it because He is gracious, but enough of what matters most to us untill we get the hint).
This is just a practical application of the Christian principle of "Waiting upon the Lord." It works!

The problem with what we usually think of as occult activity is the motivation behind the person seeking it out. Instead of relying on our Father for protection and instruction, we turn to whatever soursed we can find to educate us on how to arm ourselves.
I believe that some people have a natural link to the spirit realm. This is as human in origin as musical talent and artistic abilities. If all these "psychic" abilities were satanic in origin like most Christians believe, then why do so many people have them from birth, why don't they automatically loose them when they are saved or baptized with the Spirit, and how is it the Holy Spirit is able to take these abilities and use them for His own purposes as Gifts of the Spirit??
But because they are human talents, our "psychic" abilities can be just what they are, and also they can be magnified or "anointed" by both God or other spirits of more questionable origin.
This is the danger of seeking to develop them on your own. To get any psychic ability developed into something "useful", often times it takes assistance from an outside sourse. I cannot personally vouch for or against the trusting of spirit guides and such for this training, but by comparing notes with the testimonies of Sylvia Browne and others, I am incredibly thankful that I have God Himself to help lead me through it!
God is, however, extremely slow in getting around to this. I got ahead of Him last year and lost my ability to "hear" for quite a while. It's slowly comming back. Not that loosing it for a time hurt me in any way (except mabey my pride!), God continues to look out for me and has taught me countless other valuable lessons in the meantime. Heck, if you want to compare it with musical ability, it seems that I have spent more time "laying it down" on the altar before Him than I have actually playing guitar for Him.

huh - I have quite a bit to say on this as I experience this a lot - about to leave work but will most definitely remember to come back here and post.......glad you brought this up as most of my christian friends think I'm nuts. (no comments from the peanut gallery either! lol.......)
