  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's an awesome show. I love thinking television. (I'm sure someone's going to say something sniping to me about that now. *roll eyes* )

I loved Babylon 5. I didn't like how it ended though. I don't think it was meant to end that way. I actually loved it so much, I went out and bought the paperbacks based on the series. (they were good too, although not quite as good if you know what I mean)

I don't like New York, in June or any other time of the year because I've really never been there. But, I love Mira Furlan on Lost. (her character isn't as fun imo as Bab5. But, she's still phenomenal. Her part is a lot smaller. She's not a central character)

Do you own many television series' on DVD?

what If I roll my eyes? does that count?
Sorry that was a bit of silly humour cause I wrote *how about you?* and then instantly thought of that song
"I like new York in June...how about you?
I like a gershwin Tune...how about you?"

Coming from you, it doesn't really suit.

It's fine. I've been known to sing my posts a time or two.

Oh... you're one of those. Well, there are a lot of antiTVites on this site. You're in good company. (kind of hypocritical imo since the internet is a lot more worldly (full of garbage) than the tele.)

Do you watch much TV?
I read more than anything.

Do you read a lot? (and by a lot, I realize it's a subjective term, I mean as much as I do... 2 to 3 hours a day, several books simultaneously? )

I don't read a lot, I tend to be very *hard to please* with books. If a book dosn't catch me in the first couple of pages I tend to give up with it. (not one of my best traits, I admit). I also tend to stick with certain authors too: C.S. Lewis I will always read becasue I've liked anything I have ever read by him, and I find his *relationship* with his faith is something I identify with.

You would'nt agree that the Internet (whilst I agree is also *full of garbage*) at least allows for far more selectivity, and at least is *interactive* rather than just passivley watching something, and so is at least potentially better than TV?

Interesting. I don't usually like people who don't read. (that is to say, don't find it as fundamentally important as I) Interesting how the parameters of what I've always thought and believed are changed and altered with every new experience that challenges me to grow beyond what I've always done, or believed to be true.

No, I would not. Quote: "People use the internet for two things, porn and complaining". That is not to say that I don't appreciate that you have come to your own opinion based on your own thoughts, ideas and experiences. I just happen to have one that fundamentally disagrees with it, based on my own.

And yes, TB, to answer your question. (since it's clear that no-one else was going to) I get enough sleep.

But, in the future, please answer your own question or post another one when that happens, so that you don't inadvertently kill the thread. Thanks.

Yeah I did check . It's Revelation 21:4

Uh...my acceptance of others and their differences. I'm really working on that. And having more patience. Sigh. But I'm learning that only God can change me. I just have to pray for it and let Him do the work that I can't do.

Do you watch a lot of tv?

No, I rarely watch t.v. I just don't care about it. My husband, son, and daughter watch a lot of t.v. From the oldest to the youngest: Westerns, TNT, Disney Channel, and Noggin. I never can find anything that interests me except maybe a movie on Hallmark about twice a year.

How often do you mop your kitchen floor?

I know, I know, that is a REALLY nosy question.
